It is so nice to find a cook that uses all fresh and natural ingredients and not use can cream of anything. This is truly from scratch. I Chuckle when I see a post on a recipe and they state from scratch but they are using ingredients from a can or a box. That is not from scratch in my book! Now the way he is doing this dressing is what you call from scratch and how I learned from my grandma. We are from New Orleans, La. and back when she was a girl they never had all that instant stuff and learned the right way, not cheating by using can condensed soups in such, no everything was just as you see this gentleman doing. He's old school for sure and that I surely appreciate. I cook the same way as he. Besides, the flavor is so much better. There is nothing like it! You can not achieve the same results with the flavor using can condensed soups compared to doing it from scratch. Thanks for sharing these incredible recipes and God bless. Now there is one thing I would like for you sir to share and that is your giblets' gravy after you've cooked your turkey and it's resting if you could show us how you make the gravy from the drippings. If you could please share that, it would be appreciated.

This is how I make my dressing since I was a teenager it is old school yes my grandmother taught me how to make dressing. You never use a corn bread mix. Make your own cornbread. I have used sausage but I do not use turkey necks or giblet’s because I do not care for the taste. I am an old Texas Gal. And we do love to have our families continue our recipes. Your recipe is very close to mine I do you’s thyme but I do not use rosemary. New to your channel. I make my dressing old school for over 30 years too. I do add chopped green pepper, Jimmy Dean Sausage, (8 or 9 slices of crispy bacon crumble )into the bowl, onion, celery, sage, a couple of beaten eggs and fresh chopped parsley, salt n pepper and chicken stock. I pre cook everything to my homemade buttermilk crumble cornbread no sugar. After I combine everything up in my bowl, I pre heat a little tiny skillet I have for eggs, I put a little oil in it then take a TBSP of dressing and cook it both sides for a few minutes, then taste to see if I need more seasonings. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. My recipe is from my grandmas and mother. Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless.

I adapted this as a vegetarian recipe (with Impossible sausage as the only "meat" & Not Chick'n boullion for stock). It turned out just the way I like it. I did make a couple of preferential changes, I lightly toasted the cornbread pieces 1st & used 6 cups of water w/the boullion (instead of 8) because I like firmer stuffing & was using less "meat." I only simmered the broth about 20 minutes because there wasn't any real meat in it & I didn't want to overcook the impossible sausage. With homemade cranberry sauce on top this dressing was perfect for me.

Hi 👋🏿 Chef Jeffrey, I always add bread crumbs to my dressing cuz this lady gave me her recipe before she passed away. I’ve used sausage in my dressing before with jalapeños for a different taste. But this year I’m going to try your recipe Chef! Just like you did on the video. I love cooking. And I think that’s what we all look 👀 for is that texture and great flavor. I know it’s going to be delicious 😋! Thanks 🙏 again for another great recipe! May God continue to Bless you and your family! Much Love ❤️

I fell out laughing when you said you have the Old School cranberry sauce that you grew up on---straight out of the can. LOL! It's the best.

I like to add a half of Jimmy Deans Hot Sausage to the mix. We have a similar recipe. However, I do use cream of mushroom soup and can milk. I use them to make the dressing creamier.

My Mama always put sage sausage in our dressing. At some point I started making my stock with chicken wings and putting the wing meat in it. You've inspired me to try the sausage again for Thanksgiving. Thanks for your great video!.
