Group from Central Siberia (Russia). The OTYKEN group is Siberian natives from the composition of small peoples (Chulyms, Kets, Selkups, etc.) Tracks are released in Chulym, Khakass and Russian. There are just over 300 native speakers of the Chulym language left in the country. The artists sew their own costumes. Visually, these are traditional indigenous outfits. In appearance, the attributes of several Siberian tribes are presented at once. As for the instruments, they are also partly made by ourselves, you have to order something, they play both authentic and rare instruments - jew's harp, ikili, khomys - as well as drums and bass guitar. I was at their first show in Moscow. It was just amazing! One of the best concerts of my whole life. Their performance was perfect, their energy is incomparable! For me, the band's music is especially valuable because I am Tatar. My people are related to the Turkic peoples of Siberia. It is important for me to hear the voices of other indigenous people of Russia and to know that we still have hope for a bright future. When I was at their concert, I first heard the song "Paradise Lost". I burst into tears and couldn 't stop crying for a while . Such a beautiful and sad song about the fate of indigenous peoples.Make a reaction to the song "Paradise lost". This is a really beautiful and touching song with a deep meaning

OTYKEN is made up of indigenous people from Siberia. They mix modern pop with traditional music. Some other songs that I like from them are "Genesis", "Paradise Lost", "My Wing, and "White Mountain".

The patterns of the outfits really look like the Ainu people in Japan who came from Russia, and the same mouth harp that they use. but distinct facial features are different from Mongolian.

As you can gather from the comments below, they are Siberian from areas north of Mongolia and have a lot in common with the Inuit people of Alaska and Northern Canada. (This was explained to me by a retired Inuit auto worker who was working as a tour guide in Alaska.) Most up their have family and tribal connection in the Siberian areas of Russia. Hint; Don't look at a map to see these places, the guy told me "Take a globe and look at it from the top." A Russian shopkeeper in Nome, AK told me the same thing. In fact genetics says they are distantly related to the Native Americans, the east coast tribes in particular. Back to the music. If you look back at the very early you tube videos from Otyken you find a ethnicly Russian guy and his wife from the local area with a Beekeeping and honey hobby/business. His other hobby best I can gather from my very limited Russian language skills is being a rocker and metal guy. That was 9 years ago. He appears to have put the group together from local talent, first as an advertising gimmick, then things got a life of their own. I also love seeing groups grow like this. I found them by accident thru my beekeeping hobby, but also have an interest in music. Grew up in Detroit with guys that toured with Mitch Rider and within walking distance of where Eminem started.

The native Americans are indigenous peoples of North American BUT their ancestors migrated across Russia/Alaska land bridge long long ago and originated from all along Asia….. so even genetic testing shows Native Americans with Asiatic markers
