My whole family is polish. I was born and raised in America. Lived there high school. My grandparents fought in the underground. I cry. I cry every single time I hear this song. I’ve never listened to you but was thrilled to hear you talk of the history, the struggle, the censorship. I grew up on these. Stories. My grandfather was very good friends with mr kolaczkowski who flew against the nazis in the Battle of Britain. I interviewed him when I was 14. The poles weren’t allowed to march in the victory parade after world war 2 because of the soviets. There is so much to say. Thank you for being interested in the truth however you got there. Glad you got to see Poland. Harmony and blessings mate.

To be honest You're far from the truth - western allies in beginning of September 1939 could hit Germans from the west. You told it was not good time - it was the BEST time to do it, because almost all of German armies were in battle of Poland. If they did - Soviets wouldn't hit Poland from east on 17th September (Stalin was waiting for the move of Great Britain and France ) - and most likelly war would be over quite soon. Poland was defending will full dedication just to wait for response of allies. This dedication is greatly presented in Sabaton art (40:1 in Wizna f.e.) And that's why we're saying about "betrayal" or "hit in the back" because Poland lost 6 million citizens in WW2. What is more sad - allies "betrayed" Poland once again in 1945 in Yalta and Potsdam conferences. But the most sad is - Polish representatives were not even invited for the Great Victory Parade in London in 1946 despite Polish troops were fighting in all fronts: battle of Britain, Narvik, Tobruk, Italy, Arnhem, western and eastern front and in underground Army in Polish territory. That's sad truth about "new colonialism" which lasts until now - every time Poland wants to be more independent - it is said "end of democracy in Poland" and "Poland declining UE values". What values?

How is Poland declining EU values? By having an extremely corrupt right-wing government that continues to entrench anti-democratic policies. You see Orban in Hungary? That is your future. Ultra-conservative, ultra-corrupt. Both governments whine and bitch about how bad the EU is, then you'll turn around and beg for billions of euros in funding so you can pocket it. Eastern Europe has a lot of catching up to do in the whole "free and democratic society" department. If you wanted to be independent, you shouldn't have joined the EU. You do know what the Union part of European Union means, right? Or are you as dumb as you sound?

OSN and Sabaton, I click. I'm a guy with simple tastes... ;) Had to edit: On the same concert you have 40:1 also about Poland. But you also have the opening with Ghost Division (Rommel's push on France) and the crowd also goes nuts. Sabaton actually has a song about foreign piloots in the RAF: Aces in Exile. Check them out.

You cant make a song about polish bravery and not expect poles to go absolutely crazy over it :D after americans maybe they are the most patriotic people i ever met (in the classic definition). also to the allies part, i think it was stated by the allies that they (mostly the russians ofc) would never reach warsaw in time before the uprising is broken, which turned out to be probably not true bc the poles fought for an incredibly long time as they knew the soviets could theoretically come and free them.

Yea, Stalin ordered Zhukov to take a break about 40 miles from Warsaw as the Nazis were crushing the uprising. The Commissariat knew the people fighting in the uprising were going to be "Troublesome" & let the Nazis deal with the "Problem" for them.

The thing is hitler wanted to invade france first but he knew that Poles will immediately advance from the east as they had military aliiance. He also knew that if he attack Poland brits and french will not. Then when the uprising started Poles were thought to keep up only few days, they fought for 63. Russians were standing behind the river, waiting (like some here already said) also refusing allied airplanes access to russian airspace. Allies dropped few crates with supplies but most of those were captured by germans. Hitler literally lost his shit when he heard about the uprising and ordered city to be destroyed, there are photos and films showing how it looked after. When the war was over, and allies once again fucked us in the ass, every working Pole was contributing a percentage of salary to rebuild Warsaw.

Ok, so Sabaton is ridiculously big in Poland because we love our history - and by "love" I mean "if you start making songs about it, we're gonna worship you and you're gonna get honorary citizenships" (I'm not kidding, it's on Sabaton's Wikia, under "40:1" song facts). And seeing them live in Poland? Especially at one of the largest music festivals in Europe, with the nicest, kindest crowd possible? It's magical. But, speaking of magical and hometown advantage, you should check out "The Bard's Song & Valhalla" by Blind Guardian at Wacken 2016, it's going to blow your mind. One of the finest examples of why European festival crowds are amazing.

(It has changed name now by the way) I have been there 2 times and there are all sorts of languages heard all over the place-...Even though the vast majority are proud Polish people. In this very concert Joakim says that there are over 650 000 there now = More than in entire Swedens 2nd biggest city Göteborg .....but Woodstock themselves said it was over 700 000 . The whole concert is to find on YT

Heads up. If you want a really crazy reaction. Sabaton - The attack of the dead men, live in Moscow. Theres a very specific reason they get very very loud.. But I really don't wanna say more, cause I can't without spoiling. So You are just gonna have to trust me on that one. Again for the same reason, you will also "need" to do a second reaction to the studio version of it, or ppl might not get all of it ... Again. I don't wanna spoil, but trust me. It will be clear afterwards :) Anyway, you will love it. The story behind the song is amazing, and scary at the same time. I'm sure you will get a kick out of it, if you don't know it all ready. Keep up the good work!

4:40 in fact, the French drove a dozen or so kilometers deep into Germany without encountering any major resistance, then they withdrew, but not because of the strength of the German counterattack, they retreated, because the Maginot line guns that shielded them were sent for inspection. Germany threw all the power of the Wehrmacht on Poland, leaving the border with France practically unguarded because Adolf Hitler believed that France and England would leave Poland (like Czechoslovakia) to be "eaten" by Germany, unfortunately he was not mistaken. the war might have ended in 1939. Without over 70 million casualties ...

You touched upon it in your reaction, with the Allies that didn't came to help. It is true that the Western forces were "busy" in West Europe, but also south fighting their way through Italy, but the point remains the same. Another thing that line was about, was Russia, they were very close toward Warsaw but wasn't in a hurry to help the Poles. Short version, if the most "troublesome" Poles and the Nazis could kill each other it wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen for Stalin.

The reason for disagreement between Polish and Russian/Germans is #1. Their stated/written in archives goal is to " Spread Communism to the West over the cold dead white Corpse of Polish. It would be difficult to be fond of barbarian savages with that goal. German Nazi's had same goal in their friendship pact with Stalin. Torture, starvation, worked to death by the Russian/Nazi religion or freedom. Which would you choose? US, Britain, France and every leader apparently thought the Polish should choose torture, starvation and being worked to death by their friend Stalin. Nothing has changed. Leaders in most countries think Communism totalitarian would be good for their citizens.
