Tilt blew my mind as a kid. I remember when I got it: it was just before Christmas, and my father let me get a game when we were heading into one of the neighbouring towns as a treat. Sorry this a different issue, I recently purchased a Amiga 500, but want to keep the original 3.5 floppy disc drive, anyway I've ran into problems keyboard issue with 6 keys no working (checking the membrane) on the weekend, plus now the drive everyone is telling me to go Gotek, but to me it's not the option as I would just build my retropie, I've searched internet for floppy drive problems, my issue it won't read(cleaned) did boot up one disc lol, it's those 2 black pins......anyway can these be repaired or need to replaced? Conflicting info I seem to be getting
@oldstylegaming4 жыл бұрын
You have a few options mate. I was like you and didn't want to change to gotek but have now and it's great ...all you miss is the sound of the drive, I've even mounted it in the a500. The problem with floppies are they degrade with age so that can stop some disks from reading but chances are its your drive. You can use a standard pc floppy drive by changing a chip position on the board not sure which one as it's been a while since I did it but it was dead easy or buy a new drive ...I did this a few times before getting sick of disk fails etc then went to gotek ... You can get a splitter so you can have both gotek and original drives so as not to get rid of the disk loading option .
