My wife surname is Bai ..white.. her family lives at Mianyang Sichuan…. But she is Hui Muslim ..her great grandfather migrated to Nanyang ..Malaya..Malaysia before World war 2.. Once a year we try to go back home…. Yes Ancient Town Dali is a very popular place.. in the wall city there are 5 old mosques.. I and my wife visited and do namaz there.. Stay safe and stay happy

There are at least 2 mosques in China more than 1300 years old. And I have been to both and solat there 😊

Mosque in Tanah melayu back in old days was made using wood. It will be abandon when natural disaster happen, that's why the oldest one only 300 years old. Few years ago, some archaeologists found old masjid in malacca but it's also been abandon in 1950's, only old structure exist. It's dated back under malacca empire era around 1400 A.D. If you asked gunung jerai native, they said the first mosque was build on top of gunung jerai and it's the first one in Tanah melayu right after king of kedah embrace Islam. King of kedah is the first Muslim king in peninsular dated back in 1164 A.D.

谢谢分享～我了解到的关于云南的回族的来源是分三次：宋朝时云南几乎没有穆斯林，穆斯林第一次大量来到云南是蒙古人征服中亚后，把当地的士兵带到这里，后来由于蒙古人不是很擅长治理国家，就把云南交给了一个叫赛典赤詹斯丁的波斯（现在是乌兹别克斯坦）人。第二次是明朝时的穆斯林士兵被派到滇西镇压傣族建立的政权。第三次是清初。那时候没有回族这个说法，不过都把这些人称作色目人（眼睛有眼色），回回人。新中国成立后，信仰伊斯兰的汉族，色目人，甚至一些维吾尔族都被识别成了回族～后来由于一部分地区的民族加分政策，又加入了很多新的回族。

现在中国的回族，族源大部分是蒙古西征强制掳掠到中国的奴隶，候叫做驱口， 就是被驱使的人口，和唐宋时期的番客没什么关系， 因为历史记载无论广州，泉州，扬州，回回在王朝末期发动宗教战争都被屠杀了！ 蒙古军队在中亚大屠杀之后， 把穆斯林妇孺和工匠掳掠到被征服的西夏大理， 这就形成回族的主要集聚区！ 明朝也不会有大量穆斯林士兵，因为朱元璋歧视回回人， 回族自己传说沐英是回回， 这在历史上没有任何证据！

@@oldwatchma 朱元璋确实歧视回回人，从朱元璋颁布的法规条例都能看出来，以及朱元璋对待泉州回回人的态度，其实朱元璋对回回人还算比较柔和，并没有像方国珍，陈友定等人大肆屠杀， 至于你说的常遇春是回回， 从古至今最早书面上的证据就是白寿彝回回编写的回回人物志，通篇都是据说， 甚至传说朱元璋都是回回， 其实这是非常可笑的， 常遇春在历史上没有留下任何是回回的证据， 根据朱元璋对回回人的态度不可能不知道他是回回人， 还有常遇春老家的后裔现在都是汉族， 也根本不同意朱元璋是回回人的说法。 常营根本说明不了什么，从字面上理解常遇春在那里驻扎过军队， 以常遇春的身份， 他的后代在京城外的荒郊野外繁衍生存并不符合逻辑。 中国的历史不仅中国研究， 日本韩国都有研究，都有大量朝贡的史料，尤其朝鲜， 从来没有人认为朱元璋手下开国将领是回教徒。 中国的回回人被蒙古西征征服，并被强制掳掠到中国， 整个元朝保持自己的原始身份， 信仰姓名容貌生活习惯都是不同于东方的，忽必烈听说回回人不吃起他族群加工的食物就曾经说过， 回回人彼我家奴也， 安敢不从我国之法， 禁止回回人按照教法宰杀猪牛羊， 元朝有些回回政治人物的出身就是奴隶出身，阿合马就是奴隶出身。 比如元朝编纂的镇江志留传到现在的就留下了非常珍贵的史料， 镇江志记载: 回回人为驱者310 回回人为口者374 驱口就是元朝对奴隶的一种叫法， 就是供驱使没有人身自由的一个群体， 其实明朝朱元璋也颁布过贱民制度， 这些贱民很大部分就是色目人， 如明朝规定教坊中的色目必须穿“猪皮鞋”，并规定不许骑马，如果胆敢走在大街中间，“许平民打死勿论”，尤其是必须穿猪皮鞋，是非常侮辱回回人的。 明人孙绪还说到：洪武时，回回人禁例甚严，行止皆不得自由， 可见回回人明出也是非常悲惨的， 南洋花华侨不是回回人， 包括土生华人涔涔娘惹， 几百年也不是回教徒， 郑和的出身其实也挺惨的， 明朝大军攻占云南兵荒马乱 ，郑和被俘虏阉割，并成为一个太监能接触到皇帝，这才皇帝命令他出使西洋宣扬国威，

I don't know that it was also some Hui did rebel to Qing dynasty.. I know few things about Ma Cliques, Hui Warlords in the end of Qing dynasty they was really powerful in northwest provinces

I did read about that but I already forgot, hui Muslim fight against Qing dynasty because Qing dynasty started to oppressed muslim community sadly they lose and I have feeling that some of them migrate to pattani and kelantan and mixed with malay here

Dali city was the epicenter of Hui lead Panthey rebellion against Qing dynasty. Du Wenxiu, a Han who had converted to Islam tried to organize a Han and hui to unite against Manchus. The result was a disaster. Thousands of huis were massacred by Qing empire in this city.

Few of them did migrate to Tanah melayu before independence. I have a friend who are descendant from Chinese hui, his moyang is from yunnan. Last year they have family reunion. It's even in the newspaper. FYI, those hui create kopitiam in Tanah melayu and they also the first one who created chicken chop.

Dali city has very important history of Ynnan’s only Muslim led rebellion against Qing Empire called Panthey Rebellion led by a convert from Han to Hui named Du Wenxiu. Thousands of Huis were massacred in this city by the Qing regime. Du tried to organize Han, hui and other yunnan tribes to rebel against the foreigner Manchu led Qing empire. It began as a miners rebellion but ended up in slaughter. Many huis left to Myanmar as refugees. Many also left to Qinghai province.
