I’m sure it’s too late but you could leave the leaves in your strawberries container. Or add straw! It’s good to have a bed of something for them to lay in so they aren’t laying in the dirt to rot and it helps keep the soil moist so you don’t have to water as often when it’s hot!

You really can’t kill hostas! Believe me, we have tried! We dig them out and whatever little piece we miss in the ground comes right back year after year! 😂 But it’s so satisfying to see everything pop back up after the long, cold winter! Spring is magical.

Ahh Hillary I had to chuckle when Luke wanted to get cotton for a fire. Such a boy and then the gift of a rock. When my son, who is now 35, was about your little ones age he would bring me a flower. It was a dandelion..ha. cherish your babies, time passes much too fast. You have a lovely home and family. God bless you all.

Isn't it the best to see little plants you weren't sure of coming back? I planted hollyhocks and I believe bellflower that never flowered, but the leaves never fully died during winter and now they're growing so tall and each individual plant is sprouting flower buds. Transferred some peony bushes that withered. Then came up, last year, but never bloomed. Now I have shocks of pink and more to come. My friend even gave me a nearly dead mini lilac and I honestly didn't expect it to survive but she is doing so great and the leaves are bigger everytime I check it. I'm no gardener, either, but it's so cool to see them grow.

Very disappointing the footage was lost of the thrifting finds. I really like seeing your treasures, you're so good at finding great pieces. You mentioned painting your kitchen cabinets, curious if you're changing the color? I really like your kitchen, everything about it. When I do my kitchen update I'm using yours as my inspiration.

That’s a great rock. My son also gifted me beautiful rocks that found their way into garden beds, as paper holders in the office and as mountains in my navity scenes. Sweet memories! And we also made cotton ball fires with drops of red and orange food coloring on the cotton balls. It always amazed me how with a little twisting and fluffing, a few sticks and a couple of rocks, they really looked like tiny campfires. Occupied those boys for hours!

Beautiful video Hilary. I’m the same way with my laundry. A little thing I do too is, before putting the clothes in the dryer, I shake them out. That helps preventing wrinkles as well ☺️🧺. Have a lovely day today!🕊️

Once a rock collector - always a rock collector! My son who is 27, STILL collects special rocks! There is an out of the way place here in B.C. called Fossil Beach... he goes with his 4x4, and goes there to collect rocks on the beach, that have fossils embedded in them...he has put bookcases in his bedroom at his house, to display them all! My dad also collected rocks...when he passed, I brought them here to my house, and put them in my fake river in our landscape!

We have hosta’s all over our property in gardens. I don’t like gardening and hosta’s are very self sufficient. They come up every year and grow bigger and better every year. I have different kinds so different flowers on them. I am a Nana and I made a park on our property with a trampoline. Swings hanging from tall tree branches, a swing set, a glider swing, an above ground pool, bikes, a rope ladder and a climber and a sand box. They had lots of fun things to do outdoors. Keeps them busy 😊

So happy to see that you encourage your boys to be boys (building, climbing trees, pocket knives, rough housing outside, etc) so many boys are overprotected and their manliness is squelched. Yes, they are going to get hurt at times. Our future families need strong, protecting, courageous, confident husbands and fathers to be leaders in their families and our country.

Alternately, a ten minute tumble then hanging is a quick way to avoid wrinkles and the dryer time is short enough that waiting is usually filled with some other task nearby.

I’ve wanted to grow strawberries and blueberries and I might have to give it a try. Hostas are very easy to care for. They might need dividing in a few years but that’s a good thing because you can plant the divisions elsewhere in the yard or share them. I’ve let one go for far too long and it’s like digging into concrete to divide it.
