I was so excited, the look is amazing! The closest to looking like a real sax...but no sax samples? How is it marketed as "The world’s first digital practice horn for saxophone players" but doesn't have a sax sound?

I have it and it's really nice to practice. At night or without disturbing my husband;). Very usefull, when you're travelling or not always at home. :)

Here the Emeo is being played with the Respiro sounds which are included with the Emeo and also with Swam of Audiomodeling.

Hi. It seems a great device to practice without bothering the neighborhood or on the way. Still I have a question : Can the battery be replaces easily when it id dead? Or can we play even with a dead battery via an electrical wire?

I am so sad about that there's no real saxophone sound. 😓 I want to use it as a good practice device and for me the sound should be similar to my normal sax. So it's only half attractive 😕

Hi Lilli, it is intentional that Emeo version of Respiro does not have a saxophone sound. To date, we haven't heard a synthesized saxophone sound which we thought was really good. The sounds we provide are intended to be clean and professional, and to be different enough from the sound of a conventional sax so not to cause any confusion.

I agree with Lilly. My problem is that all sounds sound very toy-ish, unlike any other instruments. Pretty disappointed..

But there is usb midi out. There are devices that transfer usb midi to din midi so that you could play soundmodules without the need of a laptop if that is your concern. (Kenton)

@@45zapatero Sure, but it's just something else to go wrong, or have compatibility problems with, have to have a wall wart or USB power brick for, and something to add conversion delay and USB jitter. True MIDI is simpler, and far less prone to problems. USB is a polled protocol, that was designed for bulk data transfer, not a for a fast response to an un-asked for message. MIDI is opto isolated, and USB isn't. Connecting USB to anything with audio is asking for noise problems. All my synths have MIDI sockets, and that's by far the best way to connect them. Too many things claim to be MIDI controllers but don't actually have a MIDI socket. A MIDI socket is only about 3/4" across, and it only takes two resistors to make MIDI Out from a microcontroller. The software to implement one is far simpler than a USB stack. Making a MIDI controller without a DIN MIDI Out is the worst example I can think of, of spoiling the ship for a hapeth of tar.

@@hondacbx1975 It wouldn't be my choice, because there's no bite sensor, so the only pitch bend is with a thumb lever, using the thumb that's holding it up. It's quite hard to get much control, like that. The USB socket is a micro one too, like on a phone. Those wear out quite quickly, and I would guess a lot more so if you were playing the controller with a USB cable plugged in. So far, the Yamaha WX5 would still be my first choice. It's a shame they don't still sell those new. You can still get new mouthpieces and reeds though, which is something.
