This is brilliant! Helpful. I like how you slow down and repronounce the words.

After 2 years of studying your language without much success, I think the way you present this here may let me start learning. Showing words that share the same root makes it much easier to remember. No other language lesson I have tried has taught root meanings. I think you may have the best method to teach. Well done!

Olga, great job on this latest Ukrainian language video. I'm casting my vote with others who also want more videos like this one. Seeing different words with the same roots does make learning Ukrainian a little easier.

I started doing this kind of thing with Russian a few months back. It especially helps me with the longer words. Sometimes it leads me to learn some rare words and unfortunately, I don't have the will to skip those. Other than that, it works pretty well.

Hi Olga, thanks for the video which is very helpful. I think perhaps a mixture of grammar type lessons like this video and conversations videos when you make films in the street and countryside would be a good mix. Perhaps Ukrainian is a hard language to learn, but I think it gets easier the more one gets accustomed to seeing words and hearing how they should be pronounced. Seeing sentences and hearing how they should be spoken is very difficult at first because the leaner tries to say each individual word, when in reality the spoken words sort of flow into one another, so the last syllable of one word seems to hook on the first syllable of the next, that's why for me as a non-native speaker Ukrainian was difficult to hear at first, because it seemed so fast, now I can pick out individual words much better than when I first started to learn Ukrainian. It is helpful that Ukrainian verbs nouns and adjectives have a basic structure and theme, English words don't do this, so although you say Ukrainian is a hard language to learn the way words are constructed is a really good memory aid.

Niel Dooley Yes, you are right))) Ukrainian is alive language, that why you can find a lot of similar words, and also that's why we understand other slavic languages - because their words make scense in Ukrainian also)

@Olga_Reznikova9 жыл бұрын
amaromem1 Oh, I don't know.. YOu need to figure out your plaans and goals. If you want to learn one of slavic language because of your origin - sure it must be Ukrainian_ If you want to learn some world's language - it's German. If you want to visit former USSR countries - it's better to learn Russian.
@amaromem19 жыл бұрын
Olga Reznikova If I learn ukrainian can what % of russian can I say I speak? 40%? 60%?...
@Olga_Reznikova9 жыл бұрын
60%. But also Russian language have more german, french words (on that case, where Ukrainian use slavic words), so maybe you will understand even more, than 60%

Haha, I really don't know. I think it depends on person. Maybe this will be a little confusing for you, maybe not)))Anyway, you can try and then decide what will be better.
