I'd much rather see your day to day living, the cost of transport/ubers, cost of groceries / going out to restaurants etc. All these Dubai videos i see from influencers / entrepreneurs is just them talking about 0% tax, as if thats the most important thing there is, lol. For example, i live in Danang, Vietnam, and my apartment is £130 per month, food is dirt cheap, and the quality of life is very high, also a very rich culture and old cities, whereas Dubai is a quickly-constructed megacity that is certainly not cheap by even western standards. Anyway, each to their own, but i just notice this trend, whenever someone mentions Dubai, the tax thing is not far behind, and seems to be the main motivating factor.

@henry3440Ай бұрын
Be careful about starting a company through an agent, you'll pay much more both in the setup and yearly costs forever. Idk about all free zones but mine provided me with a manager that handled the whole process for me basically. An agent could not have made the process any easier tbh. Get the investor visa (can be done with a normal business too) so you only have to visit the UAE every 12 months instead of every 6 months. About living there I'd say it's much more expensive that you'd think. Only things like gas, taxis, electronics and home deliveries are cheap. For everything else you're paying 40-300% more than European prices. So you feel like you're getting scammed on a daily basis. The air quality is terrible, you'll probably be craving fresh air but there is none. A/C being on everywhere is good and bad, as it's unhealthy to breathe A/C air constantly. The women that move to Dubai are generally not good people so if you move there single and hoping to find a quality woman you'll have terrible odds.

@@OliurOnline I agree that people should be able to make decisions about relocating for whatever reason that benefits them, but for me, running away from taxes is one of the least noble reasons. Not saying that you did this for that very reason, I’m sure there’s many nuances to your story. However, the UK has a lot of good going for itself and its people. It’s a complex society that is bound to have issues, but it’s up to it’s residence to solve this issues through social participation, taxes included. Healthcare in the UK has benefited quite a lot of people, you included, you’ve documented how your cancer treatment was only possible through the taxes you contributed to. Security has its challenges, but isn’t the worse yet, and it’s about community participation to resolve this. I think, looking at it from purely an individualistic POV is a bit selfish, if I’m being honest. The taxes are to benefit everyone. But, to each, their own.

Then go pay your taxes. At some point you will realize you can't eat taxes. I don't own the country taxes. Why? Back in the day my father worked. The money he put to the side through taxes was what payed my education. Why do I own the country anything? I don't. We are already square. Taxes are not magic money from space. If taxes didn't exist then my parents would have payed for school directly. This is such a flawed argument. The problem is the state is completely missmanaging the money, so the larger the share of taxes, the more the country declines. It's a naturam thing because if you yourself would decide where to allocate money most efficiently for you personally, the stonger this is communalized, the less decision making you have. The decision making is outsourced to higher instances, in this case the state, who know less about your personal life, thus resulting in an inefficient allocation of wealth. Thats why communism failed and why high taxes are killing europe. Keep in mind, VAT didn't exidt bsck in the day, neither did an income tax.

Oliur, someone definitely is misleading you because every business (except a very short list of activities such as wealth funds and shipping operations, etc.) that makes over 375k AED in profit has to pay the 9% on profits above that amount! Note that you can deduct business expenses and a reasonable salary.
@OliurOnline2 ай бұрын
You are right about that. I’m fully aware. I should have clarified, the way you can get around that is by simply paying everything out of the business to yourself. So that you pay the least amount of tax.
@alexandrudodon12 ай бұрын
@@OliurOnline oh nice, that's good then! Only thing is the government does want you to pay yourself a "reasonable" salary, but they haven't exactly defined what that means. The accepted version is that you should technically not significantly exceed what you would pay someone else in Dubai to do your job at your level of experience. But there's a lot of opportunity to still have lots of business expenses that bring your profit down. For example, it's not unheard of for the business to pay for your accommodation as part of your salary package. I'm sure you have access to great accountants, but just wanted to give you my perspective as well since I'm in the same boat and did my fair share of research & consultations.
