Amazing how Oliver doesn't seem to mind having his teeth brushed. There is a bond of incredible trust between Oliver and his daddies. He never seems the least bit anxious or apprehensive, just happy and playful.

I applaud his parents. I dont know if I at my old age would have the patience to deal with that routine. Hes fun to watch and oh so sweet but I just couldnt do it. Im elderly. When I need to sleep...I really need to sleep. When I was younger..I would have been so happy to have a buddy with so much personality. Hes so smart!!

Oliver has such adorable bedtime rituals! This is actually healthy for humans who have trouble sleeping -- to have some specific bedtime rituals. It's a way of getting your brain to move into "time to sleep" mode. My dogs have bedtime rituals too, but only three in summer and four in winter: 1. One last trip to the bathroom (their favorite) 2. Toothbrushing (their least favorite) 3. Hiding a chew toy or stuffed toy in my bed, either under my pillow or under a blanket. Sometimes I roll over on it in the middle of the night 😂 4. (In winter) Finding the warmest spot under my comforter, next to me, and getting completely under the covers.

My beagle's daily routine is: 7:00 wake up, get breakfast, and go for a walk 7:25 between breakfast nap 8:00 eat dad's breakfast 8:15 early morning nap 10:00 begs for everyone else's breakfast 11:00 eats dad's lunch 11:15 early afternoon nap 12:00 afternoon walk 12:30 afternoon nap 2:00 eats everyone else's lunch 3:00 late afternoon nap 5:30 dinner and evening walk 5:50 evening nap 8:00 eat human dinner: 8:30 late night nap 10:00 one more walk 11:30 sleep

For my dog: we had to build a gate on the stair because my dog would've gone into my bedroom (because my door was allways open) because I had guinea pigs and dude my dog scratched the cage so much (you know interests into the guine pigs...) and that would've freaked me out. My dog was only allowed to go into my room when it was summer cause than we had the guinea pigs in the garden. My dog mostly had to sleep in the kitchen cause to prevent her from making stupid stuff we closed the door to our living room. (in the living room she sat on the couch looking out the window barking at cars who pasted by so this is why we close the door). and my mom would've brought the dog to garden, than back inside and were just like "go into your basket!" (well Dogbeds are "baskets" in German, but not only a basket, we use the "cute" word for baskets for dogbeds here...) in summer when my dog was allowed to go up the staires since my guinea pigs were in the garden, she often took place on my couch wich was bad cause I didn't got the fur off my couch since it was just a thin frame made from bamboo with pillows to sit on and these pillows had buttons a decor who had the fur stuck in it uuh bad... as we solt the couch the people who got it had to remove the cover somehow from the pillows (there was no zipper on it so they had to cut them open) to make a new pillowcase. lmao. My mom was also happy as we someday bought the gate for the stairs cause it helped her to not pee an poop in the second floor cause only the bedrooms and the floor in the second floor had carpet instead of stone or wood on the floor and we had pee-stains cause as puppy she tried to hide her need to need to pee by going upstairs and pee under a chair that was decor on the 2nd floor. I allways noticed it cause my bedroom was upstairs and when you wake up and smell pee or see poop... gross so the gate helped her a bit cause she randomly learned to not poop in the hous since she could not get upstairs cause of the gate because downstairs was no good place to hide the poop for her xD

He gets the zoomies about 30 mins after his dinner, and I chase him around the house trying to get his ball off him, which he thinks is so much fun. Then he gets onto my bed and snoozes (& snores, twitches and wags his tail in his sleep) next to me while I read for an hour. When my partner comes to bed, my dog looks at him with absolute disdain while he tries to move him so the 3 of us can fit on the bed 😅 It’s a tight squeeze with 2 adults and a German shepherd but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
