Back in 1975 , my parents were so excited to receive this record album. My cousin , Karen wrote this song. I was 6 years old and still remember that day.

Named my wonderful boy Jackson, because of this song. He was a rescue dog that had a very rough start in life. Love truly left him at my door. He found his forever home and was able to slow down and run no more. I had Jackson for 17 beautiful years. He left me 9 years ago today. I listen to this song every year on this day every year and think of all the wonderful memories we had together. Always in my heart. Love truly left you at my door. ♥️🐾

I just discovered this album since I found it at a record shop in the West Village in NYC. Not only am I sad I didn’t get a chance to hear it while she was still alive, but I wish my parents got me this when they bought me records as a kid and noticed my fascination for albums. I had ONJ, but it was the Physical single and the Grease soundtrack, not this record. I would’ve loved it growing up. Rest in Paradise to one beautiful angel.

So how come there are no songwriting credits? Did she write the song to her dog herself, or did someone else write it and it coincidentally had her puppy's name in it?

Who's Jackson? And why'd they pick that of all names?
@havensmm93083 жыл бұрын
Jackson was ONJ's dog. A fan gave her the puppy after a concert in Jackson, Mississippi around 1975. So that is how he got his name. The songwriters wrote the song for her (about her dog).
