Well done Olivia! I am impressed that you can walk so far in a day, especially as you are nearing the end of your journey and approaching Santiago. You are strong physically and mentally. I can't wait to see you finish, what an achievement.

wow, Olive 🫒🌧, what a day that was ( I feel reminded of the Sting song 'Four seasons in one day')... the poncho was overdue, wasn't it, and its horrible to have to slip into walking boots, while they are still wet from the day before... but its character-shaping, and emphasizes the highlights even stronger... I picked the same side-route - Samos felt like a must. I also walked the next day only the short distance to Sarria, which I enjoyed very much! Your camino pre-resume was on the spot... no one can fully understand the camino, without having walked it... to me there was some 'magic', that drove me forward, and 'looked after me'... I do live in a wonderful eco-community since many years, and when I returned to it after my caminos, I described it as well as a 'walking community' experience. And although I stayed in albergues every night, I feel that everyone has to find their own ways with it... no judgement about mixing albergues with B&Bs... to stay only privately though would take something away from my perspective... if only for the experience of being able to share, stretch, endure and achieve... but we are all on different life paths and cross-roads, and take away from it, whatever is waiting for us there, and indeed within ourselves... (wise words, eh?!) 😅😇

Hello! 👋 Underestimating the rain definitely added to the challenge for me! 🌧 This Camino journey marked my first adventure of this kind, so a few mistakes were bound to happen. 😅 I had the same feeling about Samos being a must when planning my journey. 😊 The sense of community on the Camino is truly unique, and I found it difficult to imagine returning to 'normal life' afterwards. I definitely agree that private accommodation would take away from the experience, and I did feel a bit isolated from the Camino whenever I booked a B&B. My main challenge in albergues (though not all) was struggling to sleep properly, which was also having an impact on my walks. 😞 A good compromise could be booking single rooms in albergues that offer them, from time to time! And you’re right, we’re all on different paths, and the Camino has a way of shaping us in unique ways. Wise words indeed! 😊🌿🚶♂✨

Possibly my favorite day on the Camino is walking up to O'Cebreiro where you purchased your poncho Olive. This year I will walk the Samos route which looks amazing from your video footage. Your personal growth and Camino spirit is also amazing. Congratulations and Buen Camino!

Oh my gosh, Olivia, you had a very rough two stages there with all that rain. But, you are an inspiration for pushing through it all, and with a smile upon reaching your hotel room! I wish the weather had been better for you, as I recall those two stages having some of the most beautiful views. I look forward to your next video to see how the shoes dried out!

You can do 30 K if you rest at lunchtime and have some strong food. You will be very much alone in the afternoon....but some other albergues await you.

Yes, I agree! I actually started to really enjoy that time in the afternoon when I had the Camino all to myself. 😊 There was something special about it, being completely alone with nature. 🌄

@@anxomillaraveiga9404 - wear water resistant shoes and bring an extra pair of socks. Lugging boots and gaiters for 30-40 days "just in case" is excessive.
