England rugby do all this stuff about what clubs players went to but we all know that’s not where their major development is. It’s at private school which is why most of our team is privately educated. Rather than pretending the club made these players please actually invest in the clubs and non private schools so that your average kid has a chance to play at the highest level

Sleightholme is ex Northampton School for Boys (as was Lawes and Thompson), a state school. But the majority of players are privately educated though.

These local clubs play a big part in sparking the passion in young players. Stop raining on their parade. The increase in players from state schools in the premiership shows that progress is being made in that area too

We need to get touch rugby into the curriculum. And on another subject when you look at the handling compared to some nations, encouraging 7's wouldn't be bad for development either.
