The Chinese children choir in their traditional dress of all 56 tribes sung the original Greek anthem. It just sounds like a soul-touching conversation between these two great ancient civilizations, transcending time and space, bridging history and reality.

Not only sung in Greek, with an excellent accent, but an astonishing performance, beautiful voices combined together!

In Rio 2016, the children who sang the Olympic anthem sang in English, not Greek. I think it was very difficult for the children to learn, even with a lot of rehearsal.

@@animo2308 Indeed. Most of the countries sing the Olympic Anthem in their own language, that's why it was so impressive listening to little children from China singing it in Greek

Me 2. I like both English and Greek. But Greek is more important because Greece 🇬🇷 is where all the Olympic Games started it all.

Those children truly sounded incredible. Learning the song in Greek must of taking a lot of work

Probably the best quality of Olympic Greek theme sung compared with other Olympics. Good choice of children a voice to give it an angelic edge to the feel of it

China sings in Greek because that’s probably the only ancient European civilization that is comparable to her own.

Spyridon Samaras, a greek, composed and wrote the hymn, so now you know in which language was written the hymn. The hymn is greek and so the games…

これが如何に偉大な祭典だったか。アジアの中での日本と中国の立ち位置が逆転するターニングポイントだったという意味で。東京2020大会も、これを超えられなかった。そういうことを象徴する讃歌だった。

It's seem to be customary now to have the Olympic anthem sung in either the original Greek text or have it sung in English. It probably also has gotten to be too much to try to translate the song into 200 plus principal languages. So having it done one of two languages is easier.

Meanwhile France let's raise the flag upside down and the flag has wrong orientation of circles. Anthem had pronounciation errors they didn't apologized they dud after someone spotted and yelled

@@saulthechicanootaku I don't think so... They would sing it instead in Japanese, because it's in their protocol that if it would be sung in the language of the host country, they would be required to do so.

@@zaldygallardojr.8762 but keep in mind that at the Beijing and PyeongChang Olympics, they were in sung in Greek, even if the singers were Chinese and Korean. I just think in Greek, it sounds nicer
