I blame the swimmers. They had 4 years to practice for swimming in this sewer. They could have dunked their heads into buckets of shit 4 or 5 times a day.. drank right out of a dirty toilet.. took relaxing mud baths where the mud is actually shit. All of these things could have built up their immune systems. I didn't see one swimmer ask a homeless person to piss on them during the warm ups... shameful.

While I personally wouldn't consider Paris in Northern Europe. North-Western, tops. I do agree. You're more likely to have to defrost your family heritage than to have them get poached in a river like that. Even in very hot weather. Even if the heat outside of the river got to him, getting in should've remedied that quite quickly. Although I might be missing some information, I don't know. All I know is that Paris is a sh. hole. And I remember the smell of the Seine about 10 years ago or so. And, having seen a few similar European "globalised metropolitan city" waterways, that one is among the worst. I think the Thames might actually have been better when I was there. But I didn't get a good whiff, so it's hard to say. Wouldn't catch me dead in either though...

You should be very reticent and careful about using antibiotics. Only ever use them on doctor's orders when you have no other choice. Because you can only take so many in your lifetime.
