When I wrote this, no one was breaking 13, no one was running sub 3’55, no one was running sub 7’35. Barely any Americans had even run close to sub 27’10. We’re not even factoring in super shoes/super spikes 😂 and if people think they don’t make a difference they’re insane. The amount of extra training you can do with Vaporfly’s on your feet is wild. Remember, Galen was running 100 miles a week on an underwater treadmill because that was the best way they could find to increase volume of work without causing more damage. Now the shoes and spikes are doing it. We’re in a difference era now. However, my point with Galen in the half or full still stands. Pacers are runners who run the next level down from the race they are pacing for. For example this was a 2 mile race, the pacers are probably 1 mile runners, they are better at it so Rupp an keep up with same speed and since he is more endurance trained he is able to keep that same high speed for a lot longer. Once you set yourself at a high speed and with the right training you could surpass pain level and dominate.

Sorry I don’t understand but why are the other runners stepping off the track?
@nicoleallen86275 жыл бұрын
student they are pacers, they just pace the runners for a certain amount of laps to help the runners stay on pace with the time they are trying to hit

Why do those early "pacers" just quit?
@MatthewStar297 жыл бұрын
That's what they're paid to do, set the pace and then quit the race.
@TheMrKobeBryant20125 жыл бұрын
Lol. Because they can't keep up the pace

GOOD GRIEF! How you gonna LAP top-tier runners!?!?😀 AMAZING! I'm watching this for the 6th time with this big, goofy grin on my face! 😁 This guy's form and drive are PHENOMENAL! Anyone who has ever run these longer track distances (1400 to 10,000 meter) knows how HORRIBLE it can be! Your lungs are on FIRE, your legs feel like lead and EVERY fiber of your being is screaming, "STOP! WE CAN'T TAKE THIS $#!+ ANYMORE!"😣😵But, you FORCE yourself through you sheer GUT-WRENCHING determination to PRESS ON as FAST you can! Ah...good times!😅

I'm truly confused, why are there 16 laps? I thought 4 laps was a mile so that means 8 laps is 2 miles. I have to be missing something...

I’m so confused about what’s going on ? Can someone please explain? Why did that “ pacer “ guy to stop running at around 4 min? And why did they other runners just let the winner pass by them.
@Hutchhh5 жыл бұрын
Can someone explain to me pacers? Like I get the idea but do they volunteer to do it or are they asked to do it cuz the coach knows they don’t have a shot at competing for 1st
@kylesears79014 жыл бұрын
So what do the pacers do? Like they weren’t in the race?
