Aleksandr Karelin showed his world-class at 4 different Olympic Games. He won three 🥇 in Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996. In Sydney 2000 he also won the 🥈. You can tell by the other wrestlers reacting to him. They are moving backwards basically the whole time - same picture in some hundreds fights of Karelin that are on video. For me the most dominant athlete of all time.

My own opinion is that greco-roman wrestling and freestyle wrestling are not poplar outside the Olympics compare amateur boxing and pro boxing, but that's my opinion.
