That has ALWAYS been my problem with Bolt...he rarely pushed himself to his MAX capacity. Could he have run a 9.50 or a 9.49? Perhaps...but we will never know, and it irks me that we can't know the human potential. So as far as I'm concerned he is the most talented lazy sprinter there ever was...
@NextGenJay6 жыл бұрын
Fred Ball you know trying too hard can result in running slower at times.
@allfiner6 жыл бұрын
@@NextGenJay No, Fred Ball doesn't know that. If he did, he wouldn't be running his mouth talking nonsense. As everyone in sprinting knows, the more relaxed a sprinter is, the faster his times. But what Fred wants to see is Bolt grimacing and straining to prove that he's giving it his all. He wants visual proof of effort or else he will be called lazy by some nobody who doesn't know what he's talking about. It's not a coincidence that the more relaxed Bolt looks and acts before and during a race, the faster his times are. All the times when we see Bolt doing what Fred wants to see, his times are slower. Ato Boldon pointed this out before, how sprinters are taught to relax as much as possible, but then they'd get to the line and tense up. That maybe if they'd all been doing what Bolt did, they'd have had faster times.

To a certain exten. Watching the heats and the semis, I knew it had to be between Bolt and Blake. Gatlin and Gay weren't the big threats as was touted or that I thought they would be. But I did know that all that was needed was a really poor start from Bolt (which since it was Bolt was entirely possible) for Blake to get it. Then I saw the times in the finals and realized, all of them could have run their PB's and still not won. Bolt didn't even have to equal his PB to win. That says it all.
