A record 4th consecutive Olympic gold for Kaori Icho (along with her 10 World Championships Golds). The most dominant wrestler of all time, male or female.

What about Saori...?
@MihirS848 жыл бұрын
Fernando Asuaje She narrowly missed out on a 4th Gold after being upset by Helen Maroulis in the final. 3 Golds and 1 silver means she's on par with the Russian legend Alexander Karelin.

i'm sorry if i come across as a hater i'm not, but for a huge company and channel that has monopolies the Olympics so no other channel could report or display the Olympics, you should actually report all parts of the Olympics not just gold medals. for example i should be able to look up any event that has taken place and be able to watch the full uncut version of it. if you're not capable of doing this give it to another youtuber who can...

That is why they get away with alot of cheating and corruption in male wrestling. Like the 2008 olympics. People outside of wrestling don't really know anything about it.

@nomoreutopia40444 жыл бұрын
omg, I was waiting for this. I was looking at the comments and nobody is telling that Russia keeps pulling her hair for no reason. I mean Idk much about wrestling but I think pulling the opponent hair is not one of the tactics,,, LMAO... I was really annoyed by that as Russia keep doing that. No offense.
@loganriki26254 жыл бұрын
@@nomoreutopia4044 The referee would rather not issue penalty points to athletes and they usually they do not, therefore, there is an incentive for an athlete to bend the rules such as pulling one's hair. But in the end, the hair puller lost. As irritating as it seems, every wrestling athlete will or may try to bend the rules to gain a tactical advantage over their opponent. However, if I were the coach, I would advise the women to cut their hair short. After all, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a medal in the Olympics; besides, your hair will grow back.

Thank you for that insightful explanation, makes sense. For men it's obviously easier than for women, however, it is once in a lifetime event.
