The greatest Spanish Gymnast of all-time?

Remember Gervasio Deferr? The Spanish gymnast won Olympic gold in the men's vault at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney (scored 9.712) and has defended his Olympic title at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens (scoring 9.737 average). At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he won the silver medal on the floor exercise with a score of 15.775. Enjoy watching the best of Gervasio Deferr at the Olympics!

I would rate him as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. His landing is very consistent - be it floor or vault. He knows how to use his power to correct minor landing mistakes. His tucked thomas is always smooth. Seriously he's quite underrated.

After the Sydney Olympics, he fell into alcohol and drugs, spent the first 3 years of the Olympic cycle without stepping on a gym or training, he prepared Athens in just 8 months after all this and still won gold. it is sad to think what he could have become and his bad head prevented him from
