Lyon back then were dominant in Ligue 1. Great players like Malouda, Abidal, Govou, Cris, Kalstrom, Toulalan, Juninho and Essien together with homegrown talents like Pjanic, Ben Arfa, Lloris and Ballon D'or winner Benzema. It's sad now Lyon is fighting relegation due to mismanagement, negligence and poor transfers since winning their 7th straight title. Let's not forget the pandemic also played a key role destroying this once wonderful club and they're not the only one affected by the pandemic bar PSG.
