Mate, I do that all the time!! Put a roll into a camera, shoot half of it and forget about it. That’s why I’m a stickler for making sure I mark what I’ve put in, otherwise I’d waste a lot of film! Some of those landscapes aren’t half bad, but I think I know what you’re getting at. You’ve done a great job of selecting and composing, and that shows, but I don’t think much of your success can be attributed to the camera. That ones at 3.54 and 4.30 are beautiful compositions, but would perhaps have been spectacular on a different camera. Absolutely love the portraits though, really nice and what the camera loses on the landscapes it absolutely wins back on the portraits. Amazing character. Some cracking shots there mate! Really looking forward to that Rollei vid! And best wishes for 2022 to you too mate.

I was happy enough with the landscapes but this camera is made for shooting people it’s a joy to use. I keep looking at those shots of the lad and although I’m normally fussy as hell about keeping the horizon level on this shoot it wasn’t on the radar I just love the look of the shots they look like old photos that will never age love the grain the imperfections the off scratch and these were my first effort Photography the negs then flipping the curves in LR so neg pro is next on the to buy list unless I spot an Agfa sensor in an opshop ofcourse btw there’s an opshop close by closed for the hols but soon as is open I’m having the wee Agfa sensor they have on window. 📷😂 Deffo buzzing to shoot the Rollei it’s a strange wee beast but I’ve seen some great reviews on it so my turn to butcher it soon. Have a great 2022 mate be in touch

The Oly SP-35 is a great 35mm rangefinder camera, if you can find one which is working properly. The feature which makes the camera special is the dual format light meter, which has both normal coverage and a spot meter option. There are two issues: (1) the meter requires a banned 1.35 volt mercury battery to function properly, or some expensive alternatives or modification.; (2) The meter almost never is working. I went through several SPs over the 1980s looking for a good one, never found one, and gave up. Also, there is no "off" switch" on the meter, so it will exhaust a modern battery quite quickly. The lens is quite good. If you are motivated to a buy an SP, consider instead the replacement, the Oly RD, better lens and meter which has similar issues but tends to actually work if you need it. Or, the Canon QL17 G-III, which is practically the same as the RD in all details, and unlike the RD can actually be found at a half reasonable price.. The SP is more for the collectors these days.

Awesome info mate cheers ive not tried the meter on the SP the RD sounds good too. I have a canon QL somewhere kicking around never actually used it just bought it at a flea market cheap so couldn’t resist definitely plan to give it a dust off. Cheers mate
