Thanks for that. I'm going to get one of these as i find the little Oly's are just annoyingly small and fiddly in the hand and aren't well balanced with the glass i use. Mostly i find i relegate them to the tripod / low light and shoot my 4/3 E-5's because they have the mass to provide balance, sit in the hand really well, and i don't accidentally change settings. The E-M1 is lighter than the E-5, and the X is heavier than the E-5... but from a carrying perspective we're only talking grams here. With fast long glass it becomes kgs difference - perhaps more of an issue. I've never held an X, but when i checked the specs and saw it was 120gms heavier than the E-5, i did a 'Yesss' and a fist-pump. Have a good one and keep 'em coming. Cheers from New Zealand.

Unfortunately I sold my g9. DP review has a good comparison of the em1 and the g9. Em1 would be a close likeness to the EM1X 👍

Hi Joe - I got an EM1X for about £700. I use the PL 100-400 as my dedicated sports setup. Love the camera, great customizability and feels great in the hand. I've got the EM1 iii too - which is also great but for sports, there's something about the EM1X that's difficult to beat

My possibly thirdhand Nikon D4 died on me while shooting a cycling event in rain, so I got gifted an E-M1 with 12-40 2.8 and 40-150 2.8 lenses to tide me through. Realised that I was missing the AF speed and responsiveness of a pro body, so I looked for an E-M1X body since I already have pro glass. Pulled the trigger on a secondhand E-M1X on eBay from Japan a few weeks ago for 730 USD before tax, postage fees and currency conversion (SGD 1100-ish after tax) , and so far it's exceeding expectations. Buffer clears fast when shooting RAW, the aircraft tracking mode tracks F-15s in full afterburner like a champ, the EVF is alright, I can charge the batteries in camera with a Type-C cable and just about any portable battery bank. Olympus blazed the trail for Canon/Nikon/Sony to follow and improve upon. I reckon it will take me a couple more weeks to really dial in the E-M1X menu and control layouts to my liking. Safe to say, I no longer miss my D4, and no longer crave for a Z9.

The EM1X is a very impressive camera. I’m still putting it through it’s paces for a long term review. I really like it.

I just picked one up in great condition for under $800. It made me happy almost immediately. Now I’ve customized the “C” dials and am amazed, and my G9 was no slouch. Bargain of the year.

I’m curious how you felt the X was compared to your G9
@aroundomaha10 ай бұрын
@@snugsonblitz I wore the G9 out and loved it. The building on the X is a bit more stout, love the dual controls and IBIS. Downside for me is the X doesn't fit into a lot of cmera bags. Other than that they're similar for me.

ai denoise in LR works really well with the raws. very good battery life charges both batteries inside camera at same time with the usb cable. Very good stability. Olympus can do 3 shot EVbrackets (not minimal 5 like Panasonic). this speeds up my work as a real estate photographer. very good jpg files. Great combo with the 8 - 18 from Panasonic. Can shoot small bathroom handheld at 2.8 and everything sharp. 900 plus pics per day this camera keeps going.

I’ve done the same as you, in the last couple of weeks I picked up a like new used e-m1x here in the uk for less than £700 (just under $900). Loving it so far (I changed from an e-m1 mark ii), I also have the 100-400 and take wildlife pics, I have no problem with carrying this combo all day long. The addition of the bird tracking is great - the mark ii said it tracked but didn’t - it feels like cheating but I love it!! 😂😂 look forward to seeing more of your videos

Hey Joe.. Great video. I'm looking at either a lumix g9 or em1 mkiii but I'm being put off by people's views on how complicated olympus menu systems are! What's your view and wondered if you might be planning to do an overview of olympus menus for beginners?
@NoProJoe Жыл бұрын
The menus can be off putting but you rarely have to go into the menus once your camera is set up. I had a G9 and it was a nice camera. I ultimately sold it because it just didn't fit my overall shooting. The 4k 60 and video stabilization was amazing on the G9. The auto focus not so much! I used it for video mostly and manual focused it because the af was not reliable at all. The menus on Panasonic are pretty deep too. I guess it is all what you know. I came from Canon to Olympus almost 2 years ago and the menus made zero sense to me. That being said Robin Wong is a great KZbinr to watch for diving into the menus on Olympus. He is a WEALTH of knowledge. I can definitely do a menu video bit I would give Robin a look. kzbin.info/www/bejne/baeanmyZpL-HqLs Thank you for watching!
