Olympus Stylus 1 review

I've had mine for six years and yesterday took it out for a great video of the 4-8-2024 total solar eclipse. The Olympus Stylus 1 is a masterpiece of compact camera technology. Though it dates from 2013, it may never be beaten given declining conditions in the market.

The lens cup on this video doesn't come with the camera. It's optional.

Thanks for the review. I have a small collection of Olympus gear and am looking at a used in good shape Stylus-1. I want a small pocket size Olympus camera RAW with a fixed lens and good zoom capabilities. This is a good review and you hit all of the important points for me. I'm going to make an offer on the camera. I'll check out a few of your other videos in the next few days as well. Do you have any videos on the Laowa 7.5mm or 9mm lens for MFT? Thanks

I cannot believe this camera ...I scored one today in an op shop .....or what overseas people would call a charity shop for $30 ...yes $30 .,..it’s for my son he’s stoked I have a dslr and dslr are too much for a kid....but this camera is good

I've owned this camera for a few years and I never knew you could remove the lens cover. WOW! My mind is sufficiently blown..

What is the difference between the stylus 1 and 1s? Also, my date/time keeps reverting to blank and I have to reset it. Any idea why it would be doing this?

I'm sure you figured it out by now, but your time and date keeps resetting because the rtc battery (real time clock) needs replaced. Google how to replace it on this model.

I have this one - lots of nice features and nice lens - and it has Touch LCD with Touch To Focus - to me the viewfinder is nice as it is the one from the OMD-em5 - but to me it is just to large on this body - makes it hard to put in a large pocket - could have been something like on the Sony RX100m3 or Lumix LX100 or Lumix GM5 - so so many good things - but IQ not good in low light due to small sensor - if only it had a 1 inch sensor :) then it would be a real killer - looks nice
