the real crime in omaha is the condition of the roads
@hegeliandetective1034
@hegeliandetective1034 3 жыл бұрын
Property Taxes, but yes, the roads not getting fixed from the huge taxes, definitely is a problem, think of it, you're poor, and wheel gets torn off it's hub/axle, or ball-joint pops, due to poor roads. Then that poor person is out hundreds of dollars, while it would've only cost cents to pour in concrete.

@hegeliandetective1034
@hegeliandetective1034 3 жыл бұрын
@Nicolo Blum Here's one; When Omaha annexed a large landmass, just west of Omaha at 168th, because the family at 156th, wouldn't sell, it took years to get the family to sell that section of land, and they made a fortune after Omaha had spread out. What was a few hundred grand to them in the 1980s, was worth tens of millions, per mile.
@hegeliandetective1034
@hegeliandetective1034 3 жыл бұрын
@Nicolo Blum Here's another. Just years ago, Omaha spread out past 180th street. With the expanse, Omaha shut down the out-skirts' water-wells, to hook that part of Omaha, to Omaha's water system, instead of the water wells. I can tell you the name of the only one neighborhood that demanded that they keep their water-wells.

@@Ti0midwest Its koo, its just old but since youre a mexican, make it down to 24th street between Q and L, thats where your people congregate. Where you from? The city started at downtown and expanded going west so everything east of 72nd and 10-15 miles north or south of dodge is the oldest parts of the city. 24th runs from the south side(mexican) to the north (blacks) but this is just a general rule as theres plenty of blacks on the south side and Hispanics and asians on the north. No one bangs off colors or race in the city so you can go anywhere, violence is opportunistic or personal but mostly personal.

It looks like you just got off of the interstate and drove in a small circle and left. I watch and appreciate all of your work brotha, I really do. "The Hood" as far as I would define it in Omaha is really bounded by like Martin Ave on the north, 16th on the east, 90th on the west and Dodge on the south. There are pockets of more middle class and working class neighborhoods within those bounds, but it's basically hood. And you will also find pockets of "hood" west of 90th if you stick north of Dodge.
