Property Taxes, but yes, the roads not getting fixed from the huge taxes, definitely is a problem, think of it, you're poor, and wheel gets torn off it's hub/axle, or ball-joint pops, due to poor roads. @hegeliandetective10343 жыл бұрын
@Nicolo Blum Here's one; When Omaha annexed a large landmass, just west of Omaha at 168th, because the family at 156th, wouldn't sell, it took years to get the family to sell that section of land, and they made a fortune after Omaha had spread out. What was a few hundred grand to them in the 1980s, was worth tens of millions, per mile.
@hegeliandetective10343 жыл бұрын
@Nicolo Blum Here's another. Just years ago, Omaha spread out past 180th street. With the expanse, Omaha shut down the out-skirts' water-wells, to hook that part of Omaha, to Omaha's water system, instead of the water wells. I can tell you the name of the only one neighborhood that demanded that they keep their water-wells.

"The Hood" as far as I would define it in Omaha is really bounded by like Martin Ave on the north, 16th on the east, 90th on the west and Dodge on the south. There are pockets of more middle class and working class neighborhoods within those bounds, but it's basically hood. And you will also find pockets of "hood" west of 90th if you stick north of Dodge.
