western people always describe Oman as a small country when it's actually about the size of Germany but you would never see western people describe Germany as small country

It has a small population of Omanis and nearly as much expats. Besides that, a lot of the land is not built on. Oman is very slow compared to the rest of the middle east, particularly the UAE, Saudi etc

I think Germany has population of almost 85 million people while Oman is more like 4,6 million and not as build up. Most live at the Muscat coast.
