@@brandesmoore Black folks, his main support base, though it applies to ALL ethnic groups in America, with small variance, spend approx. 80% of their disposable income with whites, 15% with arabs, asians, etc. and 5 % with black owned biz. Ol' Tyler, just like the others mentioned was created to execute a white agenda, not a black one. Cosby, Michael Jackson, Prince, Chappelle, etc. got the boot off the plantation in one way or the other. Black folks never batted an eye in terms of their support for the industries, and companies under whose watch it all occurred. Like I said, one off quote from ol' Madea, and black folks will step and turn they back & keep right on supporting whoever gives HIM/THEM the boot.

Tyler Perry's a success story. I give him credit for his success and it's clear his movies are mostly for women. With the exception of Daddy's Little Girls, Madea Goes To Jail and Why Did I Get Married his movies leave men on the sidelines. I'm not tripping about that anymore because they made him millions of dollars. We just need to keep the balance of Black Film and Shows alive. It's been a long time since we've had so many diverse portrayals of Our People. From Atlanta, Black Lightning, to Blackish, Empire, Power and I For Better or Worse. I don't watch all of these shows except for Atlanta and Black Lightning but now we have options. I don't want to see us singing and selling drugs but there's still an audience for that. Omar is an underrated Actor and even though I'm passing on this movie I'll check it his other stuff. He had an interesting portrayal in Sorry To Bother You.

Outstanding interview. Each person on the panel is inspiring and I can appreciate how polite these folks are with one another. (It's all in the details.) I listened to Omari's interview on the Breakkfast Club and it does not compare to this. Different interviewers bring out different energies in people. Maybe it was Tyler's presence but Omari's vibe is noticeably different. Does the media portray Omari to be a "so-called" asshole or is he a focused and mature individual who ain't about them games?
