Indeed!! I came back to watch this video because there’s a young lady who I want to braid my hair. I’m going to ask her to watch this procedure!! Well done!!
@TinaCarriger5 ай бұрын
So....I actually did this style after I watched the video. Its a lot more complicated than what she shows. The hair is VERY kinky and cannot tolerate a lot of heat from the blow dryer nor my flat iron on the lowest setting. It took me HOURS to get this done. And in the morning, the hair was matted. It looks great in the moment when you flat iron it, but it's not sustainable.
@favored60074 ай бұрын
Yep, I'm currently trying this style and it has taken me hours longer than expected. My hair did not get as straight as hers even though I'm using the blow dryer and same brush. It's still really thick and I'm not sure how to get it straighter.

Keara, your straight style looks amazing! I tried straight crochet braids several years back, but only had medium success. This time, I followed your instructions and it worked! Thank you! A couple of notes: after using the blow dryer brush, I noticed that the hair still kinked together a bit. So, I wet the hair slightly with my fingers and flat ironed it. Then I spritzed it small sections with Sta Soft Fro and water again and flat ironed it again (medium to low heat both times). I trimmed the ends and viola! I can brush and comb the hair with minimal kinks and shedding. It’s important to note, if you use a flat iron on Kanekalon hair to spritz the section of hair with water first so it doesn’t burn. It also acts as a conduit to manipulate the hair.

I can't thank you enough for this awesome video! This is by far the best crochet hair video I've ever seen. I rewatched yours and Seun Okimi's videos so many times before I finally tried it out. This has been my go-to protective style for the last 3 months. I get so many compliments and people think it's my natural hair! For others thinking about trying it, give it a shot! It took me about 3 days to completely install, brush and detangle, and straighten everything. My braid pattern was also a little different so that I could redo my part every two weeks to keep it looking fresh without redoing my whole head. I do have to brush through it everyday with the blow dryer brush because it does get stiff and tangle a little after a few days. Plus it will naturally thin out over time depending on how long you keep it in and how often you brush through it, but I just fill in thin spots with more hair. Thanks Kearra Nicole!
@dolly20ify Жыл бұрын
How long will you say this style will last?
@Olive_Green604 Жыл бұрын
@@dolly20ify I redo the middle part about every 2-3 weeks to deal with the new growth. For the rest of my head, I've left them in for as long as 3 months. I'd say you can probably get a good one month from this style at the most before having to redo it.

@@Olive_Green604what’s the take down process like? I’m a bit nervous if the hair tangles on the cornrows as the style gets old and then removing it will lead to accidental cutting of your hair?
@Olive_Green604 Жыл бұрын
@@evangelistesther.o I didn't have any issues with my hair breaking. The take down process was tedious, but not impossible. That's because for sections closer to the front of my head, I used smaller pieces of crochet hair. Just like with braids, the longer you keep them in, the more patient you'll have to be with take down. I didn't use scissors at all, just patience with undoing the knot and using product when needed to help get some slip.

This video is perfect! How long did the style last? What was the maintenance routine for the hair?
@KearraNicole3 жыл бұрын
I had the style in for 2 weeks total. Straight maintenence here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJiyXomQlrWtgpY Curly maintenence really not much. Curls last up to a week

My gosh girl. I see you haven’t posted in months and hope you are well. Let me tell you, your videos are a blessing!! I was about to do tree braids with 1/27 but after seeing this, THIS IS THE LOOK! How is the quality when it gets wet? Would love to see a how to cornrow video. Thank you so much for sharing your insight♥️

Every crochet style should have these edges. Knots are a huge pet peeve 😂

Will the hair tangle up when exposed to heat or sweat while working out?

This style is amazing! I’ve wearing braids for 6+ years now and I am tired of them and need a change. This is PERFECT because I want to continue to protect my natural hair. This will be my first time doing my hair myself - I’ve always had someone else do my hair. Pray cause I don’t even know how to cornrow yet 🤦🏾♀️ Could I use the invisible method around the whole perimeter so I can put it in a ponytail when I go to the gym? Thanks for a great video…I just subscribed 🎉
