Yep yep. Got my seamaster today. you can use the website to see your watch's tested seconds per day. My seamaster got 1.9 and my friend who bought with me got lucky with a 0.5 seconds a day.

never buy an oris- i bought a small second a while ago which was supposed to be water resistant to 1000 meters ( yep right 1000 meters) and it got water inside the dial after swimming in the pool... what a joke

I have said it before elsewhere also , Rolex is overpriced a lot at this time . When i bought my 1st high-end ( i do consider Omega and Rolex high end watches) watch , the Rolex and Omega were very close to each others price . Both were ready available also . I did choose Omega PO because imho it did look better then the Rolex . When i bought another watch this y , the Rolex was not even looked at , and i did buy the 300m , in black same you got . I do like the Kermit or the Batman ( love the Batman ... ) but it's pricepoint and waitlist is like a big nono . Rolex is imho overvalued big time at the moment . There are many others offering same or better value , Omega being 1 of them , but there are others .

I’m amazed that in virtually every video reviewing the 42mm Seamaster, not one person has mentioned the most glaringly obvious negative about this watch: the weight. At nearly 200g, it is over 40g heavier than the Sub and considerably heavier than even the last ceramic Seamaster model. This is due to the non tapering bracelet and the ridiculously large and overbearing clasp, which are the main reasons those of us who purchased the watch sold it soon afterwards. A real shame, Omega. You missed a golden opportunity there.

Slightly biased review towards the Seamaster. The Rolex movement may not be visible and artistically decorated, however, any watchmaker will tell you that it’s by far the most thoughtfully engineered movement. Rolex has also been using the 3135 movement for decades whereas Omega only recently moved away from ETA. The Submariner design is so widely recognized because it has been kept consistent through the decades. Omega have definitely stepped up from a quality and value for money perspective.

Well it could be argued many different ways. Swatch Group owns both ETA and Omega so you could argue they are vertically integrated. In the past yes the ETA movements were inferior, but in terms of accuracy and anti-magnetic properties this Seamaster is better than a modern ceramic Sub. Also keep in mind the HUGE price difference.

So one could technically argue that Rolex movements still are not in house. It's really no different than Swatch buying ETA, throwing the movments in omega, hamilton, etc. and calling it "in-house."

Rolex have sold their watches from a snobbery view point with no interest in customers lower down the food chain. On the other hand you have Omega who build the same quality for their customers minus the greed. I have both a date sub and the Seamaster 300 (plus a planet ocean), and for me Omega's Seamaster 300 wins hands down. This beautiful watch has presence without looking at the name 'Rolex' which lets face it is the main selling point over the actual watch itself. At the price the Seamaster is going for at the moment you'd be crazy not to buy one. Ok you may take a small lose selling it, but since Rolex are now ,leaving us mortals behind, you have to wonder which watch will replace the Submariner. Even though my sub is worth more I get far more enjoyment from wearing my Seamaster (which actually gets more favourable comments about) than my sub. They say Rolex know how to sell watches, but Omega know how to make them......this is so true.
