I love the Aquaracer, I just bought it and I’m impressed with the quality of this watch. I think TAG wins. TAG is way better looking, the Seamaster is nice but I just don’t like the design, TAG looks way more modern. TAG is 2.000 $ less expensivier than this Seamaster (as I saw in the comments) and have the same accuracy. So for me, TAGHeuer even when compared to this Seamaster that is 2.000$ more expensier, wins easily at every angle. Very happy with my Aquarecer, solid and versitile watch!

I own the Tag without the magnifier (3years old now) with the blue faceplate. I wear it every day. Has held up remarkably well, no visible scuffs or scratches on the watch itself, only some microscratches on the steel strap. Movement is good, my only complaint is that the power reserve is around 30 to 36 hours. So if you dont wear the watch for a day and a half, will have to reset the time... Not a major issue. From the video, I would say one huge difference between the watches is the bracelet, the Omega definitely seems better quality...

I have both watches, both are beautiful pieces. The aquaracer is a stunner, but the Seamaster it's in a league of it's own. Pictures or videos do not do the seamaster any justice, you have to look at this Watch in person, to really appreciate its beauty. The details on the Seamaster are impressive, from the case, the bezel, and dial. Everything abut this Watch screams class. That being said though, the Seamaster is almost $2000 more expensive than the aquaracer, so you would expect that type of detail at this price range. The aquaracer is still a really nice watch, the care and dial are beautiful and although not as detailed as the seamaster, still very attractive. My advice, if your on the market for a diver, save your money and get a Seamaster. However, if you cannot justify the price of the seamaster, than get the aquaracer, it's still a beautiful watch.

Both are beautiful watches but I vote for the Tag Heuer... I have an Aquaracer and I am just impressed by how cool it looks every single day. I am using it continuously and it still does not have a single scratch. Plus, it has an accuracy of +1 sec per day..

So many Omega fanboys ugh. These are both great watches. I've owned an aquaracer 500 ceramic and grande date quartz. Also an aqua terra, titanium planet ocean and older smp 300 so I've sampled both. That omega looks great and with your clasp upgrade solves the main issue I had with it and I may have to put it back on the radar. I like it's polished areas as I usually like a bit of bling in my watches but I would go with the tag between these two. And that shiny dial just pops with the double AR. I've been around the block enough where I just go with what I want not what the consensus is. I have other watches that meet my needs a little better than the omega as a dressy diver but I would be wanting to fill my more sporty diver side and the tag looks more modern and I think the yellow really sets it off. The bigger indices fill the dial better than on the non ceramic versions I think which look a little too open dial wise. You did a great review and great job showing all angles with good lighting in indoor and outdoor settings throwing in wirst shots from a bit of a distance as well. Just great and you helped me with my decision.

i never set my watches down on their crowns, OR on anything that is not a soft surface. best for longterm care. this was an informative comparison. go with the Omega. neither use in house movements though, ETA. just the Omega has a better ETA movement, more $ of course. $2875 on grey market. people are nuts if they pay 4k retail IMOP.

I try to keep my watches very mint as well, TAG actually uses Sellita SW200-1 (standard grade) Omega 2500D is based on ETA 2892-A2 but there is a lot of improvements that Omega does to it including new escapement. Paying full price is never good idea IMO.

ETA 2892-A2 is the SAME movement my steinhart ocean blue premium uses. $612 for that watch, delivered from Germany. does not have the "improvements" that Omega does I guess. It has run about 11 secs fast per 24 hours, but with a hacking movement not a big deal to adjust. cool it is the same movement. the omega fits and feels better on the wrist though. it just does. there is something about that watch. both have the damn grey numbers on the bezel. that sucks. white all around would be much nicer IMOP.

In this case, those improvements are kind of big deal, and Omega uses higher grade of base movement, mine has never done more than +/- 1 second off per day. Stainhart uses great movements for the price, unfortunately, I usually don't like rest of their watches.

Nice comparison video however there is no comparison between these two. Omega is superior in every way, it's better looking, better made, better movement, better bracelet etc Omega Seamaster 300m professional is a true wristwatch icon. Tag is just meh, not terrible but certainly nothing special. If anyone is considering a Tag aquaracer just save for that bit longer and get the SMP. It's worth the wait!

You talk as if there is scientific evidence to what you're saying .... watches world economically based on branding, luxury brand will be always flashy, more impressive, but it does not say anything about the quality ... more polishing on the band and the watch can justify the price difference of $ 2000?

Well, finishing takes a lot of time and resources, because it is still mostly done by hand, Omega also has more futures like double AR, HEV, bracelet with screws etc. movement in Omega is also better in every measurable aspect. TAG is a very well made watch as I said in the video, but not as well as Omega. If it justifies the price difference is up to people who are buying them.

Even if you believe the Aquaracer is nicer, when buying a Seamaster you’re not paying just for the watch. You’re also paying for being noticed. Yes, just like with a BMW, getting noticed comes with a price.

I have an Tag Heuer aquaracer caliber 5. My only complaint is that it seems to be losing time. Not sure exactly how much but I will probably be shipping it back for warrantee service. In my opinion a 2k + watch should be quite accurate. My next buy will probably be Brietling or Omega.

My loses time as well at the moment, but that is because it is magnetized, so I have to demagnetize it. Calibre 5 is low grade Sellita SW200-1 so accuracy can vary. Thanks for watching and commenting.

My new Aquaracer caliber 5 is 5 seconds fast over a 24 hour period. Maybe that's why they call it the caliber 5. It doesn't bother me much, as I paid discounted grey market price.

Do you not realize that all mechanical watches lose or gain time? You want a mechanical Breitling? Guess what -- they are also modified ETA movements just like Tag. A mechanical watch is never going to hold the accuracy of a quartz. Even Rolex, who submits the most watches to COSC for official certification, loses or gains time. The standard for an officially certified chronometer is minus 4 or plus 6 seconds per day. So, you can spend $10,000.00 on a brand new Rolex, and you will still find that it loses or gains time. A Tag Heuer Aquaracer is not officially certified, therefore, it might not be within those COSC standards. That doesn't mean it isn't accurate as far as mechanical watches go -- but, again, you will never find a mechanical watch that doesn't lose or gain time, no matter how much you spend.

So is Oris Aquis. It isn't much cheaper, both use the cheapest Sellita movement, and finishing is also similar... get what you like, is my advice here.

I criticize TAGs marketing and cheesy ambassadors all the time, but honestly, the don't pretend. They make tourbillions, micrographs and they have also invented newest one piece 15 Hz escapement used in Zenith Defy Lab, they know how to make watches. I couldn't care less what "people who are into watches" think. I have also had problems with movement in this Aquaracer and I had to regulate it myself, but Oris uses exactly the same movement, so there is exactly the same chance that there will be problem there. My advice is definitely buy what you like, both Oris and TAG will kind of rip you off, but that is what every luxury brand does.

I've had the Aquis, and while the build is [solid], I wasn't impressed with the aesthetic or the use of proprietary bands. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about though I'm sure it's in no small part due to the constant praise of certain well known KZbinrs. Though not a fan of Tag, I must say the more recent Aquaracer models have peaked my interest.

It is the black dial version. In certain lighting conditions it appears to be blue or dark grey because of lacquered dial and ceramic bezel.

How's it going...got a question, don't know if you might be able to help. I got my aquaracer 41mm on a nylon band, but I wana get a bracelet also. The bracelet code for this Watch is BA0928, but the price is crazy high. Jomashop has a aqua racer grande bracelet BA0821 same size as the one for this Watch for $280. The thing is that I don't know it it will fit this Watch. If you have any info on this or perhaps other bracelets that will fit this Watch I'd appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I can't tell whether it will fit or not, problem is that TAG uses odd lug sizes, WAY211A has 20.3 mm lugs, TAG says it is 21 mm so it is very difficult to determine if bracelet would fit or not unless you try it. Try asking on calibre11.com forums there might be someone there who can try it out.

It's not even a comparison. I own both and while I like my aquaracer it looks like a toy compared to the Seamaster. Tags are over marketed watches that belong in the same club as mid-range Japanese divers. Not to mention used Tags lose incredible value and aren't as desirable.

Omega’s fuckin ceramic bezel is almost as bad as Steinhart’s! No engraving so the numbers fade in the light, steinhart is 4-500$ though, omega has no excuse. The yellow on the tag is a dealbreaker for me. If they used red or navy blue would’ve been amazing. They kept the red seconds hand for the carreras

That is a difficult question, specs and quality is well matched between Aquaracer and Aquis, so it depends on which styling do you like more. I decided to go with TAG because the onion-shaped case of Oris doesn't appeal to me that much at the moment, but I would also like to try an Aquis one day.

Probably the Omega, it is more versatile, and it does´t stop that often when I forget to put it on winder, thanks to longer power reserve, so it is ready to be grabbed on short notice :)

I would say that if your wrist is at least 6 and 1/3 inch, it should be fine, you can find a lot of pictures of this Seamaster on various wrist sizes on watchuseek forum.

Yes, it does, it comes stock with the newest PO, on cal. 8 500+ PO it is plug & play installation, on cal. 2 500 PO you need additional parts to install it.

Then you should consider Steinhart, it uses same movement in watch that costs half the price of Christopher Ward, but in my opinion, movement is just a part of a watch. Christopher Ward is a great choice as well!
