I agree. 2220.80 is iconic. I asked my local Omega dealer to check availability in early 2012, and with 7 left in Switzerland they ordered nr 7 for me, so they told. The dealer received it 16.3.2012 and I picked it up the same day. I will never forget that day. Still got it.

Having had a few renditions of the SMP 300M models, including a GMT and chronograph models, the 2220.80 is the one I have retained over the 2531.80 previous model for good reasons. Iconic in many ways.

I currently find myself watching a lot of videos about this particular watch. Desperately waiting for it to come back from service. I bought mine in January 2008. I had looked at it online countless times and on one day I decided to take a look at it in person. I really just wanted to have a look at it to find out if it is the right watch for me. I ended up buying it after just a few minutes. Perfect watch, at least for me. It's durable, slim, not too heavy, the bracelet wears nicely, it's sporty and at the same time elegant so one can wear it with literally everything.

I have seen both the Goldeneye and the Casino Royale Omega Seamaster 300M at a local retailer here in HK, both of them at an excellent price. I am now considering, which one to buy. I am leanning towards the Goldeneye version as it is a Quartz movement, which is quite rare these days for a Omega Seamaster. I am sure that the value of it will only go up as the Goldeneye Seamaster will only get rarer and rarer. If anybody has any options on which version I should get, please drop a reply. As I still have not made up my mind, which one to get.

I’d pick the casino royale SMP because there’s less of those than the Pierce Brosnan SMP. So if the Brosnan SMP goes up, same will the casino royale SMP

I own the 2015 version. I absolutely love mine. It's also my wife's favourite watch in my collection. It's just that beautiful blue dial, bracelet and clasp. I get so much satisfaction closing the clasp than I do on a Rolex. I always keep my high end watches on their original bracelets. It gets more wrist time than my NTTD Omega on the mesh and my Rolex Pepsi on the oyster bracelet.

Excellent choice! I have this exact reference, purchased from the original owner in October last year. I chose this model for all the reasons you’ve given, including the fact that it was worn by DC on his Bond debut. Sent it off to Omega for servicing and it came back looking like new. Enjoy!

Agree with you these are sleepers. However my tip for the best investment is, as well as the 2220.80 (yes - agree with you that's going to go exponential at some point given the limited numbers and Daniel Craig connection) the 2531.80 with the tritium lume will take off at some point. Many of the tritium dials have been switched out for superluminover service dials. Plus the tritium develops into a beautiful tropical "fried egg" effect quite different to the later versions. So one to watch!

Love it James I still have my 2500 omega seamaster but I have the calibre 8800 which is insanely accurate and is a good beater I love omega I have a solid gold 1966 seamaster belonged to my dad 2400 is a good price for such an iconic bond watch wear it in good health my friend

Is This the 1993 watch ?🤔 They came out with the quartz first then came out with the automatic using movement 1109 but they quickly replaced it with the 1120 for to make it more dependable the waves were done with rose mill making it very nice and unassuming and classy 👍☘️

Nice review! I am a Bond fan. I am looking for a Swiss Watch to round out my Average collection. I am looking at the 2222.80.00. It is the 36mm. I have a small wrist. Harder to find the 41mm (1/22). The 36mm is more expensive than I would like to spend. I am not a flipper. I like this iteration for all the reasons you stated for the 2220.80.00. Is the 36mm worth it?

No. Having the bezel the 36mm takes a very particular build to pull off.

Great watch it sits a bit better on wrist👍 41inch? 12 .6 mm thickness I think? Why didn't you go for the 2018 seamaster 42inch 13.5 mm thick with ceramic lazer etched wave also they changed the date window now moved to 6 o'clock position for this model, Also it has a push slider on the bracelet for easy adjustment also the helium valve is slightly a different dome shape, And Also the back of the watch is skeleton showing the beautiful co-axian 8800 movement , , I am trying to collect every year and would love the new omega seamaster 007 no time to die edition!!! professional tititium scratch resistant with the fantastic master certification co-axial escapement callaber 8806 with 55 hours of power reserve the same movement they use in the modern rail master I think but it's price have to save the penny's for that , Good luck God bless & thanks for video ⌚ 👍☘️🙏

There are 4 versions of the 2500 co axial movement, Version A, B, C, D. That movement also needs a special lube oil that many watchmakers are not using.
