With PCP airguns all the rage, those new to the sport often forget about the importance of a source of air. There are of course many options that range from buying a tank and getting it filled at a location across town, a SCBA tank and a commercial grade compressor, and then there are the more portable options. It is these more portable air compressors that we are looking today.
Now I am sure you are looking over your options, but rest assured that not all options are built the same. Today we look at what I believe is one of the top of the line portable airgun compressors. This style is not for filling large tanks, but it wont let your airguns go empty and there are some creative options you can take to install one in your vehicle.

Looks like the GX Pump CS4, same features BUT according to GX, theirs can be ran for 5 hours straight. So many compressors on the market, it's hard to choose but I appreciate your review.

5 hrs straight only if you want to burn it out or if it isn’t pumping anything up. The two are fairly identical, the benefit to the this one is the fact you have someone here that will rebuild it and provide parts. That being Airguns of Arizona.

I had my omega trail charger for over a year now. It's definitely one of the best air compressor out there. I did have a few issues with it. some of the wires got lose and the compressor stop working. Nothing a regular person couldn't fix.

Great Review, but be careful with those powerful magnets in your truck bed holding your compressor; they may affect the electronic board of your compressor.

Luckily no issues yet. I think the board is far enough away to not affect it.

Great Review, do you know what is the amperage draw on the compressor, like could you use a power plug in the back of a Bronco sport That's 20amps?

Uses a max of 25 amps. I created a 30 amp circuit for built in protection.

Just plug the "inverter" into a surge protector power strip with a on off toggle and your good to go.

Water cooled and the grease pit for lubricant.

The box that allows you to run the compressor from 120 VAC Is a 12 VDC power supply, not an inverter. It converts 120 VAC to 12 VDC. An inverter provides 120 VAC from a 12 VDC source such as a vehicle battery.

So do you add water, water + antifreeze, or antifreeze to the water chamber?

Distilled water and a little anti freeze if you expect it to be in a below freezing environment. Otherwise distilled water is the ticket.

When you don't unwind all of the electrical cable, the unrolled cable acts as a reheostat, and can possibly over heat.

More geared towards filling a gun vs a pony bottle. Having to run longer at those higher pressure when filling a bottle is difficult.
