it's not very fair to call him a deadbeat if he never even knew he had a child. a deadbeat is someone who knows they have a child and still act like a child themselves.

You're absolutely right but as soon as he realizes it's no longer about his well but his son he manned up and said out I need to get my story straight and I love how that big guy truly understood when he said we shouldn't be having a boys night when Antoine is here and big guy got up and was like your right and seemed sincerely apologetic

I really enjoyed this film. I love how dad went from pure shock of learning he was a dad to complete protection mode of the child he just met. The conversations, the smoking and drinking, the loud shouting all at once turned his life completely around for the better when he snapped. I think he'll keep his son. His heart was broken when he had to explain that mommy wasn't coming back. In no way will this guy be a deadbeat dad! Bravo! Part 2 please.

He was calling the woman to give the child up? How is that good in any way?
@csat357 жыл бұрын
Metophorocally the father was having a fight with his old self. His "friends" who kept pestering him was actually a reflection of him self in the past. Whilst the other two were the reflection of his good character. He realised he has to change and what he had done was wrong all this time. Telling them "he never wants to see them again" was actually an internal struggle of his past self coming to terms withs his wrongs. Fighting his old self. Accepting the future and realising his mistakes. Very beautifully executed! P.S the director has good taste in games. They are playing Zelda.

As a guy I totally understood it. Wonder if girls will see all the relationship dynamics like who is the alpha here and who's pretending, what's going on in each of their minds, etc. And how you just take it seriously when it's not all about you anymore. It's really freaking cool how well they did with this. If you look at it as a metaphor even, it's great, fighting old thoughts, ideas, selfs, and embracing the ones necessary to take care of the kid. As literal it's just as magnificent because all the details and group dynamics are there. Really great job.

I'm 4 years late to this party. My wife and I spent a lot of money on fertility treatments over 4 years, with many losses before celebrating our first child. 5 years later, we're a family of 5, with 2 surprises. Being a dad isn't that difficult, when you have a supportive wife\mom of your children. Being a mom isn't that difficult, when you have a supportive husband/father of your children. Those guys, complaining about having children are correct in many ways. You sacrifice a lot of freedoms you had before having children. But it's beyond worth it when they open their eyes and look at you the first time. The smile they give you when you pick them up and look at them. The first laugh. The first crawl, the first word, the first walk. Playing games in the backyard. Watching them grow is so incredibly rewarding. But...if you're not ready for it...it is a real challenge. (heh...it's a challenge even if you are ready for it). I love being a dad.
