"i had a baby. that was his name. christopher. i have never said that out loud before. not even to myself. but i loved him, for every second of his life. i loved him so much. after he died, the pain was unbearable. and i think i maybe became afraid that loving another baby would somehow lessen christopher's memory. but i'm okay. i mean, i couldn't say his name before, and now i feel like... for the first time in my life, i can talk about him and i don't feel like it's going to break me. and i can look at leo and betty and know that they can't erase them. nothing can. and that's a good thing."

@@GottaLovePink96 it's also her father's name which is why she would use it. since Derek was still alive at the time but even with that this is the first time the name was mentioned before it was always just unicorn baby so she could have choson anything or just not given him any name.

She named him after her father and by extension, Derek as well since Derek’s middle name was Christopher. HOWEVER, Amelia did name her second child after Derek. The child she had with Link is named “Scout Derek Shepherd Lincoln.” Meredith and Derek named their first son after Derek as well, and Bailey! His name is Derek Bailey Sheperd. 🥺 I wish that we could’ve had a scene where Derek found out about Amelia’s son, Christopher. He never knew. They really should’ve had a scene between Derek and Amelia where they are discussing it. I also wish they would say what the middle name is for Meredith and Derek’s daughter, Ellis. I always imagine it being Ellis Alexandra Shepherd in honor of Lexie. 🥲

you're both right. Addison used Derek's full name, including middle name Christopher, when talking to Meredith in the bar during her crossover appearance in Season 4 Episode 13. I'm not 100% sure when we learned that Amelia+Derek's dad's name is also Christopher, but it's on the wiki so that's something :)
