I actually love this scene. It shows a lot of emotional growth on Meredith’s part. She’s always cared about people, but after years of being a mess she’s the together person in this conversation. And she’s wise to tell Teddy about what it was like as the kid who didn’t have a father partly because her mother hated him.

I really like Teddy and I like her and Owen together. The depth of love she has for him has sustained over years and countries. She has been there for him at his worst times and encouraged him during his best times. I like Amelia but I prefer Teddy.
