OMG!! Abby Steiner Finally BREAK SILENCE On Her Suffering! 2024 Paris Olympics || Track and Field 2024
How unfair can the world be? Now, that’s the question I keep asking myself every time I think of the current situation of America’s rising sprint star Abby Steiner. I mean, it’s so crushing and heartbreaking to see a woman who is super talented and has the potential of breaking records come so close, especially when the opportunity only comes once every four years. I can’t imagine the frustration of knowing you have to wait another four years for a chance to redeem yourself.
We’re not just talking about your ordinary sprinter… This is someone who dominated the collegiate circuit with stellar performances, breaking NCAA championship records left, right, and center. In fact, she earned her maiden national title in the women’s indoor 200-meters while a senior at the 2022 U.S. Track and Field Championships, after finishing the race in a shocking 21.77 seconds to set her personal best. But she didn’t stop there, she proceeded to represent her nation in the 200 meters at the 2022 World Athletic Championships in Eugene, Oregon, where she finished in 22.19 seconds for fifth place. In early 2023, Abby Steiner set another American record in the indoor 300-meter.

I've enjoyed following Abby from her days at The University of Kentucky to the later days of the 2024 season. Unfortunately, she did not make the Paris Olympics. But I believe she'll return next year with even stronger determination than ever. Abby is a champion in more ways than a runner. Many great athletes have had to wait to make their mark on the world stage as I believe Abby will soon.

Let's not forget that Abby crushed it in the 4x100 relay at the World's in 2022 with a gobsmacking time of 9.86! Not known for being quick out of the blocks, she is a phenomenal relay runner and a true team player. Hopefully she'll regain her 200m prowess.

@@flowerfaeri yeah this is true but I feel she has a consistent chance of making teams in the four relays are picked and often there are politics involved. We must too remember a lot of young ladies can get the job done on a leg of the relays you are marketable more as an individual.

@@flowerfaeri hopefully, she does but as for now , I celebrate the women who are having present success, you're only as good as your last race the proof is on the track, there are a lot of women capable of being top three in our country and Medal contenders.

She just underwent surgery again on her left heel for a recurrent bone spur and Achilles tear. She may well have tried to come back too quickly from the surgery on both heels that she had last summer. I had the same surgery (although mine was endoscopic and hers may have been more invasive) on my left heel last August, and it's only been in the last few months that I've been able to run faster strides and feel that I was getting equal power from my left and right legs. I perfectly understand her hoping to make the Oly team this year, but I hope this time she's slower and more deliberate about her rehab and recovery. She may also need to try to figure out whether some aspect of her running gait is causing these bone spurs to form and her Achilles to tear.

I think she should put more focus on the 400M, and I feel the same for Dina Asher Smith, as well. Both of these ladies are very fast and has great endurance, but somehow lacking in certain aspects of 100/200M execution. If they both run the 400M and continue to build strength, the 100/200M performances will come, given Abby’s start improves (Dina already has a great start).

I think she should pull a Keely Hodgkinson and pursue the 800m as well. Just one look at Keely and you can tell that she is a real sprinter who had to convert to the 800m to be competitive.

The british army calculeted formula 76/69 diffrence between Men and women! Usain Bolt his 100 meters world record 9,58! So we get 76/69x9,58=10,55 two ladies are faster than Bolt Griffith Joyner 10,49 and Thompson Herah 10,54!

@@RaineriHakkarainenOnly Elaine Thompson-Herah counts as Flo-Jo's time was clearly wind-aided. If corrected for wind to the maximum allowable 2.0m/s, FGJ's time is 10.58 which is spot on with 10.61 (+1.2) at the Olympics. Alsο, for Bolt, his 100m was 9.572 putting him in a dead heat with ETH.

She's 24, she's got 3, maybe 4 more years at peak. With her injuries its doubtful she will be a top, top sprinter. The women her age are getting faster, there are always younger, faster women coming up. She'll do well on the circuit. She'll get endorsements. But I doubt she'll be in the '28 Olympics. Maybe...maybe she can get on a relay. Maybe. Her best bet is the 200 and if she trained I think she could run global level 400m.

I wish it wasn't so, but winning all your races in college is an entirely different ballgame than the Pro's. Look at Parker Valby. She dominated this year and finished 11th in the Olympic finals. Granted she was racing against Chebet but the fact still remains.

Abbey some things are for the best, more rest for the surgery and injury you had, you probably needed more time to heal and train to get back to your best. You have 2 world champs relay gold with fast splits. Keep focused you will be back. Keep believing in yourself. This comment come from jamaica, best wishes for the future.
