Really fun ghost canes! Layer these on a solid color base to get a really fun bead with lots of depth. All colors were Sculpey Premo but the translucent was cernit.

I am a total newbie except a art class 51 years ago to polymer Clay work. Day three of my new thing I made your orange & your lime canes. I am thrilled with the results and will surely make a lemon cane in my next session. Thanks for sharing the how to videos, much appreciated, my little dogs seem to like hearing your dogs on the T.V.

Newbies can be daunted by the 'perfect' cos it just aint going to happen when we start out (well i jnow it won't for me lol). Off to watch you some more. Thank you🤗🇬🇧

I’m still learning poly clay after working with cold porcelain for years, and have watched many, many artists, & have to tell you that I love how you work!!!! It was such a pleasure, and I learned a lot! I love Cernit translucent clay for its range of faux stone’s & now your ghost canes!!!!! Thank you for making my clay journey more fun and easier!!!!

Hey, I live in SW Tennessee, and I hate the cold too.... and it does get cold here! Yes, 50 degrees is cold,but it will get down to negative numbers in the winter... while everyone else seems to get warmer weather with climate change, it gets colder here! Thanks for the tutorial btw!

Irene, today is Friday 11/11/22 @ the lower part of Idaho and we have had snow for the last 2 days or so, but at least no usual wind and I'm happy about that😁. I love your tuts because they are not fussy, that constant patting & useless adjustments to me are a waste of time (clay play time) I do my crafts for relaxation and sheer enjoyment. I am human, 64 and prone to mistakes & accidents. My mind is not as sharp and fibromyalgia fog appears now and then, it's just a challenge on those days & some times there are happy & beautiful accidents! I ENJOY your tuts, stories, humour and I find your style for the most part relaxed & relaxing so please keep doing you!!❤ Love your cutters, looking forward to my current order/haunting my mail box. And last of all Thank you so very much.

Thank you Betsy. I love snow but only if it lasts a day or two. Sometimes we get it heavy to where it lasts a week lol. But winters here get to the single digits and summers in the triple digits. I hate the cold. I gotcha on the fibro. Some days, it just hurts to think. Take care and thanks soo much !

Lovely canes!! Can't wait to try for myself. I'm a Pardo fan when it comes to translucent, but it's a bit hard to find in my area! As for varnish, I highly recommend Varathane. I love their triple thick varnish, and their regular floor varnish, while thin, is very hard wearing and leaves a wonderful shine. I just stick my beads on the end of a toothpick and dip them, then a little spin to remove excess varnish, then off to dry. Sometimes I'll even speed things along with the heat gun...cause who doesn't love instant gratification. Of course there are always resins in their many forms, and I love those too! Anyways, thanks so much for a great video. It was a pleasure to watch and I look forward to more!

Felt the same way my first time using Cernit but it was apparently very fresh so I leached some of it before using it and as it aged it was terrific. Maybe if you set some aside and ‘age’ it for a while you’d be more comfortable using it when it’s firmer. 🐨👍

Hiya, I'm new to your channel and to working with clay too. I've been avidly watching all your videos, and they are excellent. I LOVE your tutorials. I live in Portsmouth, UK and since altering the clocks last weekend, it's been dark, rainy and dreary here. Whereabouts in the US do you live? I've travelled to the West Coast back in 1981 (when I was 21!!), and I've been to New York, twice to Florida, and to Indian, as I'm a massive James Dean fan. I LOVE America. I just heard you say you're in California!!! I'd like to go back to the USA, but will have to win the Lottery now. I've been unable to work since 2015 due to ill health, so sadly, no more travelling for me. Love your tutorial today, I love all that you do. You're a great artist. Take care, and I hope it gets warmer for you soon. No more warmth for us in the UK till at least next May!!! LOL!! Take care, Val xx

I get what you mean about not liking to follow a “plan”. I tend to do the same. I prefer to “see what I get when I do so and so”. I think it is ADHD brain. Most of the time I like what comes out of what I didn’t plan. Happy accidents. As Bob Ross would say

I’m a bit confused in the beginning when you start your cane and you say you use white and the trans but I didn’t hear you say which one your using at the different stages? Are the thin slabs that you add between the flower petals the white and the petals are the trans?
@TheCreativeDork5
@TheCreativeDork5 9 ай бұрын
Yes. Using cernit which looks really white. Flowers are translucent and the thin pieces inside are white. I also wrap the outside of each petal with white. When the whole flower is formed, add translucent in between each petal to keep them separate from top to 1/4 way down. Hope that helps
