One of my favorites. The boys have said Adam’s arrangements are always difficult. Adam was crazy good as were all the boys. I don’t know how the ice didn’t fall with Tim’s low notes. Yeah Austin can do that weird sound (sort of guitar like?). Good one boys. Love Home Free!!! 😍😃😄

"Do You Hear What I Hear?" was released shortly after Thanksgiving in 1962.[1] The song was originally recorded for Mercury Records by the Harry Simeone Chorale,[1] a group that had also popularized "The Little Drummer Boy", and released as part of the album The Wonderful Songs of Christmas with the Harry Simeone Chorale. As a 45 rpm single, it went on to sell more than a quarter-million copies during the 1962 Christmas holiday season. Bing Crosby made the song into a hit when he recorded his own version of it on October 21, 1963,[4] with the record being released as a single on October 26. Crosby also performed the song on a Bob Hope Christmas television special on December 13 of that year. Over the years, Crosby's recording of the song has been widely played on the radio and has been available on numerous compilation Christmas albums and compact discs put out by Capitol Records.

For me one of the best arranged songs, or perhaps the best, of Home Free. So impressive! The phenomenal beatboxing/vocal percussion , the overwhelming bass(notes), the great harmonies, the sound effects, colors, etc. in such a beautiful but cold scenery. I could listen and watch this all the time. A lot happens, but not that it is disturbing. Just amazing. And yes, Austin makes that different sound. This happens often, just as he can also do the no monica. But Chris and Rob (and Chance) can also produce a certain sound. Listen to their 9to5 live.

If you want to hear more of Chris, may I suggest A Little Bit of Everything, Wagon Wheel/Song of the South, Fishin' In The Dark/Boondocks. Austin was indeed making that guitar sound, he can do a harmonica as well, and will sometimes join in with Adam when they perform Man Of Canstant Sorrow live. All of the guys can beatbox, you can see them do it in 9 to 5 + Beatbox Breakdown. Tim or Rob also used to fill in for Adam's beatboxing when he was doing other sounds. They may have stopped this now that Adam uses a looper on stage.

This song has been around, here in the states, since the early 60's, it was written in response to the Cuban Missile Crisis and the first time my high school sang it was back in the Christmas Performance of 1968. By that time it was already an established Christmas song. As far as vocal sounds, You need to watch "Home Free - 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, October 27, 2015" on KZbin kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHm8mIpmm5imgac The entire group does a Beat Box Breakdown.
