After founding Toontown, Jesse Schell left Walt Disney Imagineering to become a professor of Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University and create his own game studio, Schell Games. Jesse continues to follow Toontown and its fans today in hopes of officially bringing it back, and is an active supporter of Toontown Rewritten. You may have even seen him running around town on his red rabbit, Jaymo!

Am I the only person who would prefer to keep Toontown in the hands of the TTR Team rather than Disney? The TTR Team actually add new features, it's free to play, and they always keep us up to date, none of which were done by Disney.

Your compliments mean a lot, Mad Khepri, but even we want to see Toontown back in the hands of Disney! We are trying our best to keep Toontown alive, but we would gladly pay a subscription if it meant that we could return Toontown to how things used to be when the game was launched!

Disney is a business, and just like any other business, they want to make money. It was not comepletely insane that they wanted us to pay money to play it. Disney took great care of the game from about 2003-2010 I would say. It was after those last couple years that Disney realized Toontown was just not bringing in new fans and people were starting to get bored of it. They were losing money and now the Disney side of Toontown is done. Disney would be much way better of people to host this game. No offense Sir Max .-.

Not to mention being able to play ToonTown for free. Like honestly, $10 a month is way too much for an MMORPG. Like, I can put $26 down ONCE and have Minecraft forever (with endless possibilities for use and play) while I had to pay like $60 for 6 months of ToonTown, where it gets so "grindy" at points that I enjoy it much more if I can just easily walk away from the game (without burning a hole in my pocket) for a few weeks or months, then go back to it when I have more time and am more willing to grind for my next gag/suit/etc. I wouldn't be too upset if Disney relaunched ToonTown with ads or something like that though...

I know this is a weird question, but will cog nametags ever be like TTO again? Cog nametags in TTR look like you can't click on them like in battle or buildings and that doesn't make sense.

If Disney did want to bring it back, make it appeal to new players AND old players, and make it like 20 bucks and only have to pay ONCE. if it appeals to both audiences, new people and old people would flow in, which equals profit.

So, if those databases still exist, then that means our toons are still alive. So, I wonder what they're canonically doing right now? Hibernating until Disney reopens the game? Plotting revenge against Club Penguin? Gone sad because there are no players left to guide them against the cogs? If their stories are not over, then what are we missing?

If toontown disney comes back, please oh please sell the trading cards again and make it worldwide. Most merchandise is USA only. If you live in say: england, you get to see it in the posted newsletter but; never have it yourself :(

jmonkey106 I got about 4 custom trading cards, original artwork and everything, and a "postcard" from Toontown. One of the trading cards was also signed by Jesse Schell. It was a pretty good prize pack, I'd say, especially for a fan-made server.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we could get that toon database from Disney? I'd play so much more if I had my old toons back. Should seriously start taking donations from players to buy it from Disney or something.

Sadly money cannot be made off of Toontown Rewritten, or else the Lawbots would come out of their courtroom like a bunch of hungry, law enforcing Legal Eagles. However, money could be made off of other things, like livestreams, Toonbook (Who uses that anyways?), and things like that.

I don't Think a Membership Thing would not work well. I think everybody should have the power to go to all area's, Get all of the content that only some people get. Well that's just what I think.

if you make a new Toontown, I feel it should be like destiny or Overwatch. destiny will sell you 1 years worth of content for 60 bucks right off the back. Overwatch is completely free dlc for 60 bucks. I am so used to that system for consoles, and there is a huge gaming fanbase on console.
