@@HallyuWithMe you also missed a key and important detail because you stopped the video too early you need to rewatch them all to the end. I'm a big fan of Asian cinema and film and have been following the career of the director for a while. The Ditto videos are a commentary on the nature of the parasocial relationship between the idol and the fans from the perspective of the fan and how the fans will eventually have to grow up and move on from being into the K-Pop Idol industry. OMG is the counterpoint to that in how due to the nature of the parasocial relationship the idols can lose their sense of self and have their own actual identity subsumed by the fans expectations of them. For example the Kpop fans of Newjeans have certain stereotypes that they tend to class all idol group members into different roles. For example one member is always going to be the youngest of the group... ergo the baby... One of the members of Newjeans is said to look very catlike hence the consistent use of the cats in the music videos and why at one point she is actually seen to be eating a catfood supplement (the little plastic tube of food). Another member has the stereotype of being a bit of a princess hence the big gown and princess/fairytale settings for her... the Kpop industry and the fans themselves assigned these archetypes/motifs to the members even if they don't actually apply to them in reality. Shin Woo Seok of Dolphiners is the director, he also made 2 more music videos with Newjeans and his work was excellent using a lot of media literacy to make the videos incredibly dense. I highly suggest that you watch them and I would be fascinated to see your interpretation of them. These music videos are ETA, and Cool With you Side A and Cool With You Side B

With NewJeans, you have to watch their videos, both A & B and from the very beginning to the very end. Not that the detail in the end of OMG was earth shattering, but it added another layer to the story. And Ditto side B is the second half of the entire story.

Also... i'm not sure how much you know about them but i would reccomend 'an (un)helpful guide to newjeans 2024 version' its a fun and informative introduction to them.. also helps to understand why some of them are what they are in 'omg' because of their personalities in real life

''The writing on her cast is gone but the nail is still there'' if you noticed she was actually painting minjis nail in her imagination.. but the reveal is she was actually painting her own nail imagining she was painting minjis.... you really needed to do side b to get the full story of her moving on with her life and accepting she needs to leave her imaginary world in order to do so... the boy represents her way out of moving on so in the end she gets with the boy.. but later on in her she slips back into her depression and her imaginary world.... you really did miss a lot by not watching side b :( Also the cat in ditto walking up to haerin and haerin saying ''im not a cat'' is forshadowing how the idols are perceived in omg... in omg her story is she thinks shes a cat because the fans (and even her own members) are constantly telling her she looks and acts like one.... also hanni being the iphone and asking for heesoo to answer her would have made sense if you watched ditto side b where after heesoo comes to her realisation and leaves her imaginary world you see a phone ringing in heesoos room with heesoo crying and ignoring it.. almost like hanni iphone is trying to make sure shes ok or trying to bring her back into their world..

Here's the most believable theory: In Ditto, Ban hee-soo(girl with cast) represents New jeans' producer Min hee-jin and the boy is Bang si-hyuk of HYBE MV is telling there's a conflict between two and SIde A: if Newjeans and Hee-jin is not separated Side B: if Hee-jin decided to leave HYBE without Newjeans And in OMG, it shows about Dahn World, the cult that Bang si-hyuk believes It's related to Korean myth about bear and that's why some bears in the MV Sorry for my bad English and this could be wrong. But the new theory of these MVs was really interesting.

hyuna had a song- i think 21, that touched on this topic a while ago. i think the attitudes around it are starting to diversify. there never used to be any space in the idol industry for idols debuting or even existing past say, 25. i do think it's a little ironic? or interesting to hit on the commentary (through these music videos) of fans re-approaching their interactions, intents, and views of idols when the company itself is debuting these idols so young. i do think it's healthy for people to remember that they are always 1 step away from idols, but i do think the other side of it is the exploitation, knowing how fans and the public are, of such young idols in the industry. a more recent song you may be interested in checking out might be taemins guilty. it's not immediately obvious how the topics intersect or pertain to one another, but if you dig into the analysis of it, it will make more sense. it's also just a beautiful song and poignant performance in general. thanks for the reaction ! i don't even know how i got here, as i wasn't looking up newjeans reactions 😂
