Hottest musical video on YT probably. Heart sisters were bringing it. Back up vocals and choir were off the wall. Bonham Jr and guitarist were awesome. Just an incredible production overall for the living legends ( mostly) to see and enjoy. The camera of course kept focusing on the remaining members of Led Zeppelin themselves.This was no little gig. This was a monumental masterpiece delivered to some masters of their own.

Yeah, the old guys they kept showing are the members of Led Zeplin (except for the drummer, who passed). The guy on drums for this performance is his son. The 2 lady's are Heart. Proud to say they are from around my way (Seattle, WA). You have done some of their songs like Barracuda and What About Love. This performance was part of a huge show honoring Led Zeplin. There were other artists covering other Zeplin songs but this was by far the best. I've seen this performance at least 6 times and this time around I still got watery eyes watching your reaction to it. Good shit man!!

Summing it up in one long ass comment. Every year, since 1978, the Kennedy Center hosts a program honoring people in the performing arts (doesn't have to be music) Example this same year David Lettermen was also honored. This was 2012. I've seen dancers, artists etc also honored. Except for the last 4 years the President and first lady also attend. They bring on people to honor the honorees. Either by doing some of their songs, some jokes, a speech or whatever. The ones with the colorful ribbons around their necks are the ones being honored. In this case you see the remaining members of Zeppelin who are the "who are those guys" Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones. Heart (The Wilson sisters. Ann singing and Nancy guitar) They weren't the only ones who did a tribute to Zeppelin during this but very obviously the best ones! Their drummer John Bonham had died and as a surprise to Zeppelin his son was there on drums. Over the years there have been some epic moments at the Honors but this one...in my opinion.....is by far the very best. Have you reacted to Heart before? Can't remember. Not a bad choice for a few songs! Crazy on You, Barracuda, Magic Man, Dreamboat Annie etc etc

The man sporting the beard and moustache is Robert Plant, lead singer of Led Zeppelin, who originally sang this song. When I first saw this on TV, I was gob smacked. It still gives me chills. The small choir and then the large choir at the end, the violins, the horns, the drummer, the guitars and Ann Wilson's soaring voice knocked it outta the ballpark. They make it look easy. It's not. The song is a masterpiece and so is this performance. Greatness meets greatness. That doesn't happen often. I bet even Beethoven and all those great classical masters dug this from their grave.

For all the comments giving him q hard time you need to remember that he thought he was reacting to HEART doing a cover of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. He wasn't aware that the actual members of Led Zeppelin would be in the audience or that it was one of their member's who had passed son on the drums. I am 56 I have always loved Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant. However, I wouldn't even say I would have known that was them in the audience, but being that I know how these things go I would ASSUME that must be them because the camera kept panning to them for their reactions. As for the hats and the son playing in lieu of his dead dad (RIP) I didn't find that out until seeing this somewhere else on KZbin. So far all you advanced people who knew all these things, give the kid a break. Some of us didn't know this either. So for his actual reaction to HEART and the son's drumming he was spot on. The Kennedy Center Honors ceremony is an annual event where celebrities go to Washington, D.C. receive honors (it is also attended by the US President.) This one is from 2012. Heart played to honor the three surviving members of Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. I could not even imagine playing an iconic song like this to the creator of it I would die lol.

Hey Leo - I watched a video of Jimmy Page on YT where he explains how he (and Robert) wrote "Stairway to Heaven" He mentions how the beginning, middle, and end & are supposed to rise up (crescendo). Reason I mention that part is because this performance perfectly reflects how it was meant to be played. From the quiet start - slow rise - melodic middle - bridge - then ALL OUT - back to quiet. He looked pleased at the performance, didn't he? 👏👏👏 Anyone who is a fan of the song should check out the video. There is nothing better than hearing the true history of a song from the legends themselves. 👉😍QUESTION! Will you watch it AGAIN by yourself now that u know what's up?
