Our 87 is a manual and it's stock, but yeah, that's likely because it was a one owner car owned by a lady who was a teacher. It's not quite as clean as this one, but other than the transmission and fixed roof, it's pretty near identical to ours. Ours is probably about a 7.5 out of 10. Front bumper is dull and there is some fading on the outer seat bolsters.

YEAH BABY! The Supra with the Coca-Cola bottle shaped body. I had three overtime back in the 80s and early '90s. A 1986 &1/2 Root Beer colored w/ standard, then a 1987 Burgady auto with Targa top, and finally a 1991 Siver with Targa top... these were SWEET! Thanks for the memories and for making me feel OLD...Great Job!

I had one. No turbo, replaced the head gasket. Wasn't going to win any races, but she was damn quick. Kept a big gulp cup because the Targa top leaked. But the ride was phenomenal. Smooth and sure footed, like riding on rails. Some old man ran a red light and t-boned me. Totalled. Miss that car.

You have amazing timing because I just picked up an 88' NA Supra a few days ago! It's also in pretty incredible shape like this and the interior impresses the hell out of me. Blessings Isiah 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him./inspiration+ Not everything in the book of Isaiah is as encouraging as this passage. Much of this book is an admonition to people who have failed a Holy God. Some of us can remember our parents telling us as children, right before they punished us, "This hurts me more than it hurts you." At the time, we cannot believe that is true. But when we become parents and we have to punish the wrong behavior of our children, we understand exactly what they meant. A parent’s desire is to love his child, not to punish. In this passage, we see the true nature of God. We see His heart’s desire. He longs to be compassionate and gracious to us. More than anything, He wants to shower us with His love. But just as a parent also has the responsibility to discipline, so does God. He is also a God of Justice, and therefore, He must "wait" to show compassion./prayer+ Father, I know that You are a God of Compassion and Grace. I realize that You long to shower me with blessings. But I also know that You must discipline me when I am wrong. I may not like it, but I understand and appreciate it. I would rather be disciplined by a loving God than punished by a just God. It allows the driver to select between a softer ride for everyday driving or a stiffer more sporty ride when you're feeling peppy. Some people don't like it and think it's an unnecessary feature that can be rather costly to replace but I enjoyed the feature on my '86 1/2 Supra, my '88 didn't have it and it was missed.

This brings back such happy memories, I had one of these a 1987 model and it was such a great car. Mine was red with a grey interior and was the non-turbo version but even with no turbo it was powerful enough. It was one of the most comfortable cars I have ever owned. I also had a MR2 Mk1 of the same year and that was also a great car. In my opinion this was Toyota at its best.

When they are that crazy and not even out of high school yet chances are someone will eventually turn up dead someday.

That is a Beautiful MK3. Jared means 7M ‘BHG’-GTE. But with a new metal gasket it’s fine. Loved the torque compared to the 1JZ we swapped into my ‘87. However the music the 1JZ makes is just incomparable. Can confirm the Wastegate Shim gleefulness!!

@@WillFuI ...just make sure to know the difference between the various 1J’s. Stand-alone ECU is probly the way to go, as well. They’ve gotten pretty reasonable, and potentially makes tuning easier. R154 5-speed Trans is pretty hardy if it hasn’t been abused. And just go ahead and buy a Fluidampr®. Just get one. Then maybe the crank pulley won’t separate while you’re driving around one day.

The 7M was not Toyota's best effort TBH, but nor is it as terrible as some people make out. They sure learned a lot before designing the JZ series.
@JoelKreider
@JoelKreider 3 жыл бұрын
@@Beer_Dad1975 ...Definitely learned a lot. Although, I think the main downfall of the 7M was poor turbo preparation. The NA was fairly solid. We had one in our families ‘85-ish Cressida. Never remember it being a hassle. Best sound system tho... had a 9 band manual EQ.

@@JoelKreider They were a good engine by the standards of other inline sixes of the time - they just suffered in historic comparison to Toyota's own later effort, and so the narrative is they are "unreliable". I never owned one personally, probably a few years too young, and my Dad hated Japanese cars for some reason - in the 90's and early 00's I owned a 1JZ Chaser, and a 2JZ Soarer though - both fantastic cars. I'm old enough to remember the 80's craze for sliding equalizers though! :-D

Guide me with the love that You have for me. Help me to do Your will in all things. Amen.
