OMG, sleeping with books!// Have you ever dreamt of staying in a beautiful library overnight? Just like Harry Potter being in Hogwarts? You can totally do this at Gladstone's Library in Wales! It's a wonderful experience and definitely not your usual place to stay!

Haha loved your bloopers, nice touch. It wouldn't matter if you left them in any way. Quite agree, old books, old shelves, and old buildings are a few of my favorite things and oh to have peace and quiet in our lives. Was the reason we, my wife and I moved from noisy Melbourne to Ballarat (regional and historic) just over two years ago and loving it. although I know that England will be so much nicer than Australia full stop, yep I'm not a hot sun lover. How's the house reno going?

You and Jeorg would absolutely love a place called Barter Books in Alnwick, Northumberland. It is the biggest second hand bookstore in Britain and I think you would like the fact it is in Old Alnwick train station. Part of the store has a train riding around overhead. It has lovely reading spaces one being beside a beautiful coal fire. It also has a cafe in what was the Waiting Room. Not far from Barter books is the beautiful Alnwick Garden which is well worth visiting.

That was an interesting destination for a holiday. It was a shame the bedrooms weren’t more in keeping with the library, it was a little too modern for me. My husband would love to go there so I will certainly keep it in mind. Thanks for sharing.

It's a wonderful place! I know what you mean but it's part of their philosophy to have more minimalistic bedrooms as very often writers stay there to focus on their work and many people spend most of their time in the library itself.

With your love of vintage things have you read the two Monica Dickens books - One pair of hands also One pair of feet. As well as finding these two books very humerous it will also give you a keen insight into people in the early part of the 20th century. Try them both and see what you think.
