when a makeup artist takes the word "Artist" seriously. love that you're mixing tones together to come up with custom colours you'll actually use. i've seen people fix their broken pans before, but mixing products to get the right shade/tone you're looking for is absolutely genius, and hella artsy.

I’ve been mixing different bare mineral loose eyeshadows into new colors for years. I normally make new vibrant colors, but I’ve also added a lighter color to another that I felt was too dark, to tone it down. I like mixing the Wild Woman shadows together, like Wild Woman Dawn with Wild Woman Melissa. Melissa is so dark, while Dawn is a lot lighter. They combine well and make a nice midtone color.

I bought this product after a few of my NYX blushes arrived broken and I decided to play mixologist and made my own colors. I really enjoy it despite the mess. I only wish they made it with square pans and presses because I don't like round pans.

This is really brilliant! For making small travel palettes but also for blending and customizing colors. I have all these highlighters that I'm just not into anymore (except the Wayne Goss highlighter and blush duo because it is perfection). So what I want to do is mix these into some different blushes to make some glowing, sheer blushes. This will be a great way to use up things I already have while getting to be creative as well.

It's crude but brilliant. Things I would tweak : # The weird sifter disc thing needs to be less fiddly and easier to grip (impossible with false nails!). # Square pans optional. They really fit nicely into a z palette. # An ergonomically designed pouring "spout" - no wastage. # Better quality materials - preferably NOT plastic. # Very visible markings But I do think it's a genius contraption. They'll be popping up everywhere soon! Where you found this is a mystery all on it's own, but I'm so happy you did. Thank you Mr Goss, 😉😊💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

@@martina0anitram same! Also, if you simply pull the lid from a small container , as long as it has straight sides it works great! Think of things like lip scrub lids, or potted concealer lids, etc. As soon as it’s pressed, return the lid. However I used to actually mix the powder with the alcohol to make a paste and then press the paste in. I never realized you need such a tiny quantity of alcohol to re-bind the powder. Next time I will try just a few spritzes.

That is awesome. Thank you for this vid. I've got so many eyeshadow palettes & this would help me simplify my collection & put them into one palette. It's so tough to decide which ones I want to take w/ me if I go on vacation etc. So I end up taking them all & don't even use half of them. I may just use one or 2 colors from each. It would be nice to keep all of my items in bigger pans too.

😆… I actually call what you’re doing “depotting”, since you’re removing it from the original container (or “pot.”) I use the word “decanting” for liquids… like when I transfer a bit of perfume or lotion from the original bottle into a travel atomizer/bottle, for on-the-go reapplication or travel. I actually did (and still) use some “pressing tools” that I made myself, from wood craft piece. Comes in handy when you’re turning loose pigment powder into solids… or when you have to fix a pressed powder. But this pressing set looks interesting. Might have to get my hands on it…

I learned from KZbinrs years ago that you can repair broken pressed powder with alcohol, but the end product was never great. I think the addition of the pressure pad and maybe the silicone, probably makes a big difference. I was told to just mix alcohol with your powder and let it dry in the pan for a couple of days. It always ended up breaking again. This is probably worth a go.

There are companies like TKB Trading that sell everything you need to repress makeup or mix it to create custom colors that cost much less than this kit. Repressing makeup if you don’t care about how nice it looks just takes rubbing alcohol and a paper towel or piece of fabric. But you can buy things to press with, preservatives if you are mixing colors, empty pans, supplies to mix lipstick and lipgloss, the whole works. You really don’t need this overpriced kit. There are less expensive options
@swood2603
@swood2603 3 жыл бұрын
I bought pressing materials from TKB Trading and they work great. Much less expensive. I do usually use more alcohol and mix it in. For round eyeshadow pans, I often use a US quarter (25 cent coin) and a paper towel.
@teufel75
@teufel75 3 жыл бұрын
Just want to clarify: for repressing makeup, you only need rubbing alcohol, a paper towel or cloth, and something to press down with. The other items I mentioned are for if you want the finished item to look nicer or are making or mixing your own cosmetics. Also for taking powder eyeshadows or pigments and turning them into pressed ones.
