This song is instant goose bumps. Instruments (if I remember correctly - Dears corrected me if I'm wrong. Aleks, Dears are the fans of Dimash) - Two string played with a bow is a Kobyz and the flute like instrument is a Sybyzgy. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. Most singers have a octave range of 2, Dimash can sing 6 octaves, he also writes music and I think can play 9 different instruments.

Brilliant first reaction. Love it when a reactor “gets him” the very first time. Honestly this is just a small taster of what he can do. He sings ALL genres of music in 16 different languages. Samaltau is one of my (many) favourites. It was an unusual choice for a first reaction and doesn’t show off his vocal range so I’m glad you recognised his talent as you did. I’ve subscribed for more. I suggest you do SOS from I I am Singer competition in China next. It was in 2017 and was the show that got him recognised in China and spread to other parts of the world. It was a competition for already established singers and Dimash was invited as a wildcard and the only non-Chinese competitor. He blew everyone’s minds! Can’t wait for you to do more. The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. Dimashs vocals are mindblowing as usual. The story of the song is from 1913. young men from Kasachstan were forced to go an soldiers to Omsk to serve in a war of the later soweitunion. Thank you. The 2 stringed instrument is a Kobyz. It is an ancient traditional instrument from Kazakhstan. Then there is a rain stick and a traditional flute that you blow through the side of your mouth. Dimash is the best singer/vocalist on the planet. He has 7+ octave range and is stunning in each. He is now 29yrs old. He is highly trained since 3yrs old. He has practiced no less than 3 hours a day every day his whole life. He is incredible in all ways. Every performance, every song will make you have goosebumps and/or tears. He is 6'3" tall. He is Muslim. He is kind and generous. He loves his family, friends, and country. He is an ambassador for peace. His fans are called 'Dears' because they are dear to him. As to the song, he is singing as a young man that was pulled from his beloved home and aged parents into war. He doesn't know if he will ever see them again. Note: you must blur/cover Dimash's videos because Dimash's work. It has two strings made of horse hair. The resonant cavity is usually covered with goatskin. The sybyzgy is a Kazakh transverse flute traditionally played by shepherds and horse herders, made of apricot wood or the wood of mountain shrubs. Length 600-650mm. The sybyzgy sound scale is estimated at 4 - 6 holes. The rainstick is a percussion instrument made of bamboo that can be classified as a shaken idiophone. The rainstick is generally used to create the sound effects of rain or, when shaken, a sound similar to the maracas. At the time, Dimash said that it is the most difficult song to sing, because of the emotional charge, because of the painful past that his people had to go through. Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 or 16 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. The instrument you mentioned is called kobyz. The kobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s spread among Kazakhs. The man who is playing the kobys in Dimash’s performance is the best on this instrument and a very good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. If you continue to listen to Dimash you often can hear this instrument when he sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or ÒmirÒter and at the stage performance in Stranger. The flute is called Sygyzgy and is mainly played in the Kyrgyz and Kazakh regions. According to Wikepedia it is traditionally played by shepherd horse herders. A wonderful sound. This song is one of my favourits (like so many other songs😅).Samaltau is about a young Kazakh who was forcibly recruited by Russia in 1916. He was forced to leave his home country and his elderly parents to go to war (WWI) and does not know what awaits him there as a soldier or how his elderly parents are to manage without him. I love this song. This song is really special. You literally can hear the wind blowing, the storm and the howling of the wolf. Dimash sings this song so emotionally that you can almost sense the fears and worries this young soldier must have felt as he went off to a war that wasn't his. I suggest always turning on the subtitles. Almost every song on his channel has many subtitles for you to choose from. Normally there are no vocal acrobatics in his native songs and I love them a lot. In every of this songs you can hear the great love and devotion to his country and his people. The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. He wrote this song and others especially for Dimash’s wide vocal range. I’m glad you discovered Dimash and I hope you continue to react to videos of him. A year later Tokyo jazz festival has him back singing in Japanese one of the fifteen languages. You see below someone putting his octave range as 6 octaves - this is back in 2017, when he was 22. He’s now 29 with a known range of 7 octaves and 2 semitoness also hitting notes out of this range hitting a D8 one note above the piano probably a frequency.
