When Master Chief was speaking about being a machine, and to look at Riz and see only an empty shell of a human because a real human has a life and a family... that shit hit me hard. Ever since my time of service I've always been called "a machine" at places of employment. As great as it was when I served to be considered "machine-like", it sucks that it's something I could never shake and just "be human." It always made me feel like I'm "other" in normal society. I'll probably get that Master Chief collection you mentioned during one of the streams and finally get into the games of Halo, but after the series finishes.

I've played halo since I was in grade 3 and am now 27 and I love this show. All of the hate is hilarious to me, I have accepted that its not video game Halo. This show as its own is awesome, emotional, action pacted, and super entertaining with a sprinkle of Halo stuff that I know and love. Acceptence is a big thing and I hope others like me can come to enjoy this and I can't wait to see where this show leads.

I believe they will have the Arbiter but we have to remember, Thel became the Arbiter after failing on the 1st Halo ring. They are not there yet in this series. I believe this current Arbiter and Makee will serve as the Heretic Leaders. And they are definitely teasing the flood. I think it'll all come into focus in the final episode once they get to the ring.

In universe the plasma weapons are just as if not deadlier than bullets They can tear off limbs and cause explosions of bodily fluids due to flash vaporisation, they’re absolutely lethal Edit: them being more effective against shields is a gameplay mechanic, and would hold true on flesh

As an aside, I felt immense pride when I saw that the location on Onyx at the end was Camp Currahee. Currahee is Cherokee for "Stands Alone" and is the motto of the 506th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. You know them best from Band of Brothers. I served in the 1/506th in Iraq in 2006.

In Inheritance it was mentioned that the Ha family was given their purpose by one that had revealed itself to Kwan's ancestors and later her father I think. I think that's it talking to her now.

Even MintBlitz who tries his hardest to be positive about everything was saying how disappointed he is with how season 1 was, and the direction season 2 is going with how they did reach.

From what I understand, Ackerson used children orphaned by the Covenant as candidates for the Spartan III program. With them saying that Kessler was taken by the UNSC, they may try to stick him in that program, which I believe would be Soren's worst nightmare.

The helmet the S-III's are wearing at the end there is not EOD but the SPI helmet, along with the SPI armor. The armor was introduced in Ghosts of Onyx(one of my favorite halo books). The armor did later come into the games (mcc and infinite) but with a different name for some reason.

I believe the new name (Mirage) is to explain why it has all the modern suit features like shielding etc, as the original SPI (Semi-Powered Infiltration) armor had rudimentary active camo and no shields.

I'm pretty sure those are Spartan 3s in Mirage SPI armor. Helmets are similar to EVA, but more like the one helmet on the cover of Ghosts of Onyx. I think they showed some in promotional material using the base Mirage helmet available in Infinite.

The short of it is.. the Prophets are sick of Makee so this Arbitor is basically her babysiter.. along with combining aspects of the lore Arbeters. The way they talk about the story, it seems like he will become very silmilar to Thel in the future..

What Var 'Gatanai does here doesn’t really have any impact on what Thel ‘Vadamee does if we’re sticking somewhat with core canon. In the main continuity, Thel doesn’t become the Arbiter until his failure to stop Chief from destroying Alpha Halo (Installation 04) where he’s branded a heretic and subsequently an Arbiter. Obviously right now we have no clue as to whether or not Var will make it to Halo. That’s obviously what Makee wants him to believe to serve her own ends (because he’s VERY much on a razor’s edge with her). My guess would be a final battle at the season’s climax where Chief will kill Var and escape to Halo. BUT this is the Silver Timeline, just look at where Keyes is right now. Var could be our Silver Timeline Arbiter that’s just going to be a foil throughout the whole show. I HOPE that Thel is brought in as the ones to pursue Chief to Halo (if they’re even doing that) so we can have some aspects of the Great Schism and some unity with the Sanghelli and humanity, maybe actually have some Arbiter/Chief dialogue that we were denied in Halo 3? We’ll just have to see. In this new continuity, anything is fair game. Great reaction though!!

Unless they just uproot how SIII are made there isn't enough time for Sorens kid to become a SIII they still go through years of training and augmentations at 14 like the previous spartans did. They were just cheaper, less strict about entry, and more survived augs.

Honestly, I don’t think anything past Halo CE is a given, and from what we already know, it will be a vastly different experience. How long do we expect this show to run? It can’t go forever. On another note, I watch a lot of the Marvel content on this platform, and it seems that comic book fans DC and Marvel alike, can categorize different iterations of characters and storylines, yet while still enjoying them for what they are. I wish halo fans could get with the program and start separating the games, books, and show from each other.

I found your channel through the Halo TV series. Thanks for your very good, constructive and sometimes critical reviews. In my opinion, I don't know the games and have never played them. The TV series has to distance itself a bit from the games, but keep the basic story. 😀 Why am I of this opinion, you can't take everything 1:1 from the game. That would bore many viewers who don't know the games. What the gamer community already knows from the games has to be made accessible to non-gamers. So explaining why John 117 becomes Master Chief, i.e. character building, is important. I came to Halo via the Mega Bloks building block sets, bought books and find the whole sci-fi story very exciting. And if you manage to improve from season to season, it will be a really good TV series.😉 Just think of Stargate SG-1, the first season wasn't a big hit either. But it got better from season to season and season 7 was a blast. In the end there were 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1, two movies and two spin-off series.🙃 For me, it would be great to see the gamer community not get too caught up in the game canon. And the showrunner takes the criticism to heart, improves the TV series from season to season, but keeps the basic story.😀 These are my few cents of thoughts on the TV series, which I love to watch and really like. I hope there will be many more seasons over the coming years. 🤩

The closest things to ghosts in the actual halo timeline are 1. AI of people that have already died such as the Librarian in the events of halo 4, and other mental imprints Forerunners saved via their armor after the wearers died. 2. Precorsors Neural Physics science like the composer and the Domain. 3. Flash clones if you wanna count Cortana, her sisters, and the Spartans doppelgangers. Kwan saw a ghost of someone the audience knows is real, and that she never met before. Then that legit ghost told stuff to her that the actual person shouldn't have known about. That's not any of the above listed things and isn't how geas work. The show desperately wants to use the force from star wars and is shoehorning these witches, and ghosts into this God awful adaptation of halo.

It's been a LONG time since I've been so frustrated with a character that I wanted to punch the TV screen - multiple times... I'm so happy we're finally getting farther and farther away from what these "Halo" channels think is Halo. This is the Silver timeline, which means there are no rules. I love seeing gatekeepers heads explode everytime the show changes the story, characters, and lore. It's like they don't understand that Halo is whatever we want it to be. They want it to be like the games and books. That's boring, ill take a badass assassin Kwan and John able to tap into his chosen one magic to fight the aliens. The original Halo didn't even have magical powers. That's a more boring universe. In this universe, anything is possible.

Bro why does the show insist on making John like Anakin Skywalker, on some Chosen One type character? Like it completely undermines the narrative that Chief is technically just an average Spartan. As well as the fact he's just a soldier at the end of day. One of my favorite scenes in ALL of Halo is the ending of Halo 4 with Laskey. Where Chief distinguishes soldiers from people and Laskey corrects him. That can't really happen in this timeline (at least it won't be meaningful anymore) partially because the show is exemplifying Chief with traits that are supernatural, intangible, and unrelatable. Ughh they've just already shot themselves in the foot. I'll enjoy the show for what it is (mainly just action) but the decision making is just wild to me.

thel doesnt become arbiter until cheif blows up the first ring in halo 1 of the games its then halo 2 we find out his involvement with the events of the first game so i think this is still the arbiter before thel he will probably appear in season 3 as im pretty sure neither chief or the covenant even have a location for the ring yet so i think chief will kill var gatanai and then thel as a lower ranked elite will follow chief to the ring and fail to stop him from destroying it leading to thel becoming the arbiter, could be wrong just my own theory

It's a different Arbiter but it's not like Thel was the first in canon or even the first during this war: there was also Ripa 'Moramee in Halo Wars. The Covenant probably selected Var 'Gatanai because of the repeated failures to get the Keystones and to find Halo. This recent escalation in destroying planets is probably his doing.

I really hope that by the end of the season, Jimmy Rings gets a hold of the classic Mark V armor prior to going to Halo. Just have Halsey mention how she knows where to find some older model MJOLNIR suits to replace his missing suit. Then when he gets back to Earth for Halo 2/Season 4 they can give him his Mark VI back prior to the award ceremony. Assuming this show lasts for that many seasons that is.

I don't think that's the Gravemind talking to her. Is her monster the Gravemind??? Yes. Is the old woman??? No. What I think that is is a Forerunner AI. In Inheritance it was mentioned that the Ha family was given their purpose by one that had revealed itself to Kwan's ancestors and later her father I think. I think that's it talking to her now.

AIs are different than Forerunner keystones, this is more like the Monitor, it has a mind of its own and we already know that there's a Forerunner AI that has a connection to Kwan's family and has shown itself to them in the past.

I hate it. I hate this. Chief knows whats at steak, he always has. Since he first saw the Covenant, since he first lost a Spartan and as a saw worlds burn. I dont think they’re trying to stick with the story line of the game much and is its own show. To be honest i still love it. You have no idea how much i wanted them to bring halo to the big screen and when forward unto dawn came out i was even more excited.

It was simple, effective storytelling, but they complicated everything unnecessarily. Season 1 should’ve been from the perspective of Noble Team and Reach dealing with their sacrifice, with Master Chief introduced at the end, and season 2 being on Halo.

@tmade6 doesn't matter books were only made to support the games. harvest, an outer colony, went back and forth for a while. It wouldn't be realistic to have Reach taken in hours. Games supersede the books because bungie is the creator of halo. Also they called REACH an outer-colony this episode when it's an inner-colony.
