David' seems to have it set up to where you can't hit any bad notes, like every note you play on the right hand compliments what he's playing with the left. it's really an incredible instrument, I can't wait to get one. Also, very accurate sounding harp tones!

Yeah that’s how the QChord always works. It’s essentially an electronic autoharp, muting all strings not in the chord that you’re pressing the button of

Really nice to hear someone else play! I recommend digging into the 99 voices, there are some really interesting ones in there even if they’re inconvenient to get to. My favorite is 77, it’s a midi womens choir

The beat presets also double as bass and rhythm presets, which offer some interesting stuff to work with, especially in the rhythm cartridges where they get away from the cheesy omnichord throwback presets

What’s the difference between a q-chord and a omnichord
@michaelsmith47485 жыл бұрын
Q-chord is the replacement for the Omnichord line, it has a cartridge slot for song packs where you strum along to the songs provided, MIDI (only the later Omnichords had that), the strumplate has more "notes" (compared to my old OM-84 anyway) and it looks like there's more options for the strum "sound" - 100 vs 10, option for additional 30 rhythms, etc. Googling also suggests if you want the "classic" Omnichord strumplate sound, should stick with an older one of those. (OM-27, -36, -84)
@michaelsmith47485 жыл бұрын
Oh, and the Qchord has a pitch bend wheel. It looks like it boils down to the Qchord being able to do a lot more, but apparently can't nail the original Omnichord "sound" that some really like.

Ah thx, mate!!

Hi David! I've enjoyed watching your improv this past month, and I was wondering how/where you set up the camera for this... Is it on a tripod behind you, or is it a head-cam, or something else? Also, what is the stand that the Qchord is on - is that a keyboard stand? Thanks for sharing :)

Can you turn off the chord drone and just play the harp with the right hand?
@Oberheim20014 жыл бұрын
Yes. It is possible. But if you want to change the tones or scales you habe to click the chromatic buttons on the left.

It is a big synth support. But you can use a table or something my friend. The sheet music stand it is a bit weak I think.

Old question, but, you can get straps to wear it like a keytar, strumming and fingering the chords like a guitar neck.

I just bought one of these for my daughter for her 18th birthday and she is in love with it. How would you record what you play to a computer?
@greateagle87993 жыл бұрын
Either a cheap microphone such as your phone's microphone or a usb one put next to its speaker, or if the omnichord a guitar or aux cable output, you could get the most accurate/highdef recording by using a guitar cable to plug the omnichord into an audio interface, such as a focusrite scarlett 2i2 or something cheaper, which connects it to your computer by usb and preamplifies it to make it sound real nice. For recording, audacity is a free program with pretty much lossless quality.

@Oberheim20014 жыл бұрын
Thanks for comment my friend. I can understand you, sometimes this kind of music is like solitaire sounds but, in this case, is just an improvisation, a bunch of chords with some strumps from the Omnichord Q-Chord. Is like a demo song. But it is a song, a non-conventional one, but a song. Somehow you can listen to other pieces in my channel done with my Q-chord and many more electronic devices. Thanks for listening to!!!
