I'd like to remind about the challenge: to replicate the Ciat-Lonbarde Cocoquantus in VCV Rack. :P I think it's worth it, because it's something completely different that the newest little Moog. Lo-Fi delays, looper, and lots of modulation...

Just finished building a Mavis in VCV2. I've been following your videos for about a year but only patching in hardware until today. This is my first VCV build so it took a while to get MIDI in from Keystep Pro 9 and audio out and to figure out how to get modules into my library but now I am playing it! The pace of the video was quick so I paused a lot but everything went together without problems. The build order helped me see the relationship between the Mavis hardware and the signal flow as implemented in VCV. Thanks as always!
@OmriCohen-Music2 жыл бұрын
Oh nice, welcome to VCV land :) I'm glad you enjoyed the build. I think that this is the main reason why I do these builds, just to see more closely how things work. It can be quite interesting :)

I think pretty much any midi controller will work. I'm a VCV novice, and managed to get a crappy old Behringer BCD3000 DJ controller mapped to useful functions of a patch. Worked just fine. Something like the Akai MidiMix might be a good option? 24 Knobs, plus some faders & buttons.

Hi Omri, looking forward to this. Am very curious about the most important difference of the Mavis compared to the DFAM, M32 and Subharmonicon.
@chitlun2 жыл бұрын
All three have built in sequencers but the Mavis doesn’t. Also I’d say it’s closest to the Mother 32 because the SubH & DFAM are very much out on their own in respect to their functions. DFAM is primarily a percussion synth and SubH is kinda hard to describe coz it’s pretty ‘out there’ 🤣
@Dr.TeaseMedia2 жыл бұрын
@@chitlun thank you for explaining major difference. Is my assumption correct that in case I use two M32’s I can create also the sounds that Mavis can? Like using an LFO to dual moderate?
@Dr.TeaseMedia2 жыл бұрын
btw I love using SH and M32 together. Amazing what these two can do without fx, midi, daw, or any human interaction in my video Bach’ish two
