We have an EX that we got for just over $30k, 2021 February. It does great in the snow, relatively deep snow too. Does fine on dirt or rutted roads. Tires are pretty bad stock for anything other than that. Its plenty fast with a very full load, and the safety combined with lane keep and adaptive cruise make it a great road trip machine. Also gets pretty solid MPG too if you drive it right. It just isnt made for much more than that.

The ride is way sportier than the last version (a plus for us), the turbo motor is so much faster than the last gen v6 (at CO altitude), and the transmission is so much faster and smoother (than the last gen), and the interior is a big step up from the last gen as well. IMO the new gen is 5x better than the last gen we had. I mean i wont be offroading our Xline like this, but overall a huge upgrade for Kia SUVs The Kia Dealership said the '23 telluride will get the new sorento interior. If you really want to take the Sorento offroad without breaking anything, the first gen is your best bet. They may not look very cool but it's probably the only body on frame Sorento before they went to unibody for the next generation.

@@damilolaakanni yes 1st gen was a real 4x4 not an AWD and where king of offroad inside Kia line up.. 2nd gen was a crap... 3rd gen V6 AWD lacked of ground clearance but was capable of some soft offroading , specially the 2019 when they upgrade from 6 spd to 8 spd tranny... 4th gen have dual clutch, witch is NOT for offrading anyhow... where the 3rd gen was a kinda "do it all" meaning average in everything but can do all (no Kevin, you cannot do rockcrawling in this), the 4th gen is mostly an asphalt vehicule but city folks won't crap their pant hitting a dirt road (wich ISN'T offroading) at 60... Isn't the DCT a wet clutch type? I suspect you are smelling the brakes as the AWD system tries to bias torque to the wheel with more grip on each axle. This is clearly a vehicle designed for on road use. Kia wanted a piece of the expanding "adventurer" market and did what they could to make this more off road capable, which is to say not a lot. Ths is NOT an off-road vehicle. However, this look like a great vehicle for most people who want to camp in a state forest a couple times a year, and commute to work or soccer practice the other 363 days. Considering those tires the AWD and traction control systems do a pretty decent job in the situations where you had opposite corners unloaded.
@haroldbeauchamp37702 жыл бұрын

The hybrids uses a conventional 6-speed automatics. So that's for sure. Just keep in mind that the plug-in hybrid only get superior fuel economy while it operates in electric configuration. If your commute is under 30 mi then you use no fuel. If I recall correctly, the plug-in hybrid only comes in AWD. Once it switches to the gasoline engine, your mileage will be worse than the ICE models. Unless you're getting a healthy federal/state rebate, you won't be saving any costs overall.

yes and no... the AWD will respond the same, so no on term of that, but yes in the end is always a question of torque available vs friction coef... even if you put a real 4x4 low gear full lock vs a 0 friction coef... it will stay there spinning like hell... so having more friction is always better and will change the outcome but the ways the AWD works won't change... the delay and the weel spin will stay there,
