…”missed the point…” is spot on. And what a huge point ultimate reconciliation is!

It’s interesting it’s almost like the universal reconciliation passages in scripture are like whispers coming off the page, not everyone hears them for some reason.. I didn’t hear them until recently although I had a feeling God is far more graceful than we painted him out to be.. great message !

Enjoyed your talk! Agree. Old humanity died with Christ, Romans 6:6,7. New creation includes ALL. Most just don't know it yet... someday they will. What a day that will be! Grace and peace!

Hey John, thanks for sharing that. I am on the journey from the old school thought of separation to the school of inclusion and so want your message to be true. One area I struggle with is, how do you know whether Paul was talking just to the Christians/believers in his letters or about all humanity? For example: Ephesians 1:4 (NASB) 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love Thanks so much for your encouraging teaching. Bless you bro… 🤗❤️

Hey Tom, I would like to invite you to poke around and find my other videos on this topic as well as to Google search the New Testament for all the occasions the phrases “all” or “all things.” I think you might be surprised how often it happens and how these passages are deliberately overlooked/left unconnected in American Christianity. Have a great day!

they love to talk about deconstruction, but what they really fear is us reconstructing, for people God has saved in genuine way with overwhelming grace they will never stop seeking the truth and become complacent in false religion after being shown the light. of the truth

John, loved this talk, especially listening to the rain. I would love to hear you thoughts on Bonhoeffer’s theology. He is held in high regard, but I feel that he lost his life due to a works based philosophy. Thoughts?

I took a semester long class on his life and work during my time at Princeton, and before that, I would say that he was the first theologian I ever read deeply. I think it is possible to read The Cost of Discipleship/Nachfolge and think he has a works based theology but some of that is due to the English translation. Even Bonhoeffer admitted that parts of that book could have been written differently. Bonhoeffer did not lose his life to his works based philosophy, Bonhoeffer lost his life at the hands of the Nazi’s in Flossemburg as they sought to eliminate evidence against them as the Allied Front moved closer and closer. I highly recommend the his biography by Eberhard Bethge, a family member.

I’m going to read that book. I always liked him, but became confused about how he thought.

sounds like you are looking through the eyes that see hearing with the ears that hear and understanding with the heart of Christ how the faith of the Son of God works.

Here you go! His writings on this topic are from an essay called, "Christ, Reality, and Good; Christ, Church and World." Most people know him from the Cost of Discipleship and/or his book on Ethics. The link below is an edited assortment of other major writings that are more known by scholars and theologians than pastors and laity. I HIGHLY encourage getting this book. It was a main textbook for us in my Bonhoeffer studies at Princeton. www.amazon.com/Bonhoeffer-Reader-Clifford-J-Green/dp/0800699459/ref=sr_1_1?crid=W190IV7749WZ&keywords=the+bonhoeffer+reader&qid=1706192053&sprefix=the+bonhoeffer+r%2Caps%2C86&sr=8-1
